Title: Check This Out...
Description: Ultras

Have a look at some of the images - especially GKS Katowice.
So sad that the UK does not even feature in the list of countries and thier images. There are some (mostly Scotland) featured under 'other countries' though...
The home of football indeed....

The whole Ultra way of support has never caught on over here even when the rules weren't as strict.

Funny how England in the 60's and 70's actually inspired a lot of the ultra movement.

Scotland however do seem to have got the Ultra bug.

Is someone did that in england you'd get loads of fans moaning they couldn't see. ;)

there's sort of an ultra movement going on at liverpool called the rtk no where near the scales other countries but they are getting stronger

I just can't see the Ultra style support catching on in England well (even from the hardcore). Personally I'm not a huge fan of flares, but do like flags, colour, banners and the like. Nearest we get to Ultra is the East Anglian Derby where there is a sea of Yellow and Blue.

The rules as they stand (excuse the pun), will never allow an ultra movement, Aberdeen are the only true Ultra group and thats only because they have had to fight for years to get where they are now. I don't think english fans have it in them to do that.

Well unfortunately your club wouldn't allow us to do any of other plans so i am afraid you'll have to accept seeing lots of balloons in the other east anglian derby

Isn't really a derby though, well not so much for us at least. Don't mind the balloons though, we used them at Watford in the Fa Cup away, looked good with 4,500 of us.

i personnally love the ultra scene with all the flares and flags it would create a much more exiting atmosphere and it would be more interesting to watch

lots of your fans criticize us for using them, and then do them in smaller quantities themselves at Watford and Norwich.

Would have been good to have some proper flags in the away part of the cobbold section.

Many Ipswich fans would critise it, because we have a traditional style hardcore support (ie. no drums, not ultra style, just standing and singing in the Lower North).

For me personally I do prefer a bit more colour. I think its good when people wear the colours of the clubs (I don't understand non-colour wearing), balloons do look a bit 'cup final' but I think they add to it, espcially when we play the likes of Nodge. Fan organised flags and banners are good, club organised ones look a bit pathetic.

Would have been good to see some flags in the Cobbold, but our safety officer is one of those sort who won't listen. I've already sent him e-mails to ask to move the away fans near the North Stand but he comes back with arguments that that area of the Cobbold is outdated and can't handle away fans (I'm sure most away fans at PR would agree that the 'updated' area of the Cobbold still isn't good enough) and that money would have to be spent upgrading the new area (which I'm sure we can now afford when the investment comes in).

Until we are allowed away fans near the North Stand, the atmosphere will continue to suffer. It is sometimes more frustrating than not being able to stand. The Churchmans or Home Cobbold don't offer any banter to away fans so the whole of Portman Road is labelled as having a tench atmosphere
