Title: A Few Standing Pictures
BHB - September 25, 2007 04:54 PM (GMT)
Few pictures of our fans away at Blackburn and Watford last season seen standing. Just remember them being asked for, but can't find the thread. The Watford one's pretty good, as it shows a few sitting in the front few rows towards the centre.

The Watford one is exactly what they were looking for I think. People standing, peolpe sitting and not much colours.

Thought so.
And not much colours? There's one fella in a red coat down the front and another halfway up, almost perfect :ph43r:

That second one looks similar to a united away end with all that black and not much colour :ph43r:

No - the United end looks similar to our end B)
Just thought it was the perfect picture, as no way you can tell what club that is, shows a few lads down the front sitting down, and the Watford fans over the divide all sitting.

Now that's what I call home support! And on a terrace too!

Us standing in an all seated stand!

Stevenage's away end is brilliant. Because they're outside the football league the stewards just do their job and don't hassle us to sit down. Therefore, the atmosphere is always good. The fans that want to sit can choose to towards the front of the stand and the ones that stand congregate at the back.
jackarmy - December 18, 2007 06:03 PM (GMT)
even in the Welsh premier league the stewards enforce you to sit!! i was at a Llanelli match and i was standing, all stewards coming up to me telling me to sit

Indeed, was my best awayer ever!
I posted something after the game on here complimenting the stewarding from Stevenage. It was certainly a day to remember despite losing 3-1!
Thats what its about having that choice, we took around 40-50 that day quite a few oldies who obv prefer sitting and they did like you say abit further down while us lot stood up without any hassle, the stewards made easy money as they do watching the game even having a laugh with us and taking in the atmoshpere and didn't bother us and we didn't need to bother them - everyones happy.

yes we got given the upper tier and 3/4 of the lower tier instead of the full lower tier due to "violent disorder" in the first game (words of the police not mine)...basically there was a few attempts at breaking steward lines and bottles, coins thrown between the 2 sets of supporters....nothing major..oh and the first game got abandoned due to our player having a heart attack....forest sang "same old leicester always cheating" and it didnt go down too well to say the least.. <_<

I'm going tonight actually. We've got them in the Herts Senior Cup. When Barnet were in the same league as them the away end used to be packed out. I went there with Farsley earlier on this season and it was great. About 60 of us including 20 Barnet fans! Didn't sit down once all game! They lost 4-0 though :(

Off topic but big deal - population of Watford around 100,000 - so that would be 25% - not bad. Population of Leeds - not sure but far, far greater than Watford.
Anyway, this board not the place for '606' type squabbles..!
watermelon man - December 20, 2007 02:00 PM (GMT)
Playoff final 1999 - Watford v Bolton. Wembley stadium (not far from Watford) Watford sell out their alloction.
Playoff final 2005 - Watford v Leeds. Millenium stadium (a long way from Watford). Watford struggle to sell their alloction resulting in plenty of empty seats.
It's all to do with location.

Thats bigger than their average attendance at home.
Didnt Leeds have something like 100,000 apply. Where the trout did they all come from
LongtonLeeds - December 20, 2007 04:41 PM (GMT)
No that was just the pisshead that is kevin blackwell talking, he loved his statement about 250,000 people applying for cardiff...almost as much as 'it was only me and gary kelly' oh how i miss his pre-match blabbering. Luton must love him
