Title: Edgware Town

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM
EDGWARE TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB
It is with regret that I must inform you that we find our present position as a football club untenable.
With the recent purchase of the ground and the grant of planning permission by Harrow Council our main sponsor and benefactor has decided to withdraw their support with immediate effect, putting our lease of the White Lion ground in jeopardy.
We must vacate the ground by the end of the year (December 2007) and with no alternative ground or ground sharing agreement available we will be unable to compete in the league and Cup competitions this season.
This is devastating news after the success’s of last season and all the work that has been done at the club to obtain an E grading for the ground. It will be a traumatic blow to the players, supporters and officials of the club who were looking forward to the new season.
Paul Gregory
Secretary
Edgware Town Football Club

Unfortunately an occurence which has been too common during this close season.
Enfield, Scarborough, Edgware. I'm sure there's been others, but I can't think of them right now.

Maybe. It's certainly a possibilty. That would certainly be a fall from grace.
There's also a chance that Edgware may survive. Last thing I heard was that the club are trying to mount a rescue package, and are in talks with the council.

Farnborough Town are another to have gone recently - it does seem to be happening more and more.
One of the my favourite clubs in the country and one with a great set of fans. In our final season in the conference we joined in a demo against their owners - by walking on the pitch a half time! It saved the usual having to walk around the pitch to change ends :P

Harrow Borough have offered a groundshare deal to Edgeware. Looks like they'll survive after all.
Farnborough - that was the other one I was trying to think of.
I'd hate to see any club fold, even Gillingham or MK Dons!
