Title: Our So Called Game In Dortmund
Steve - May 30, 2007 07:57 AM (GMT)
As being told Wycombe were playing Borussia Dortmund in a friendly game away in the pre season we have been led up the garden path. We will now play the Under 23s in a game in a behind closed doors friendly on one of their training pitches. So all in all a load of old crap. I wasnt going to go anyway (being a friendly) but quite a few fans were to go to Dortmunds ground but have now had to cancel. Just knew it was too good to be true.

Why Do decent clubs never do tours of decent European Countries?
Leicester last European tour was to f'kin Helsinki!

Our friendlies get less and less imaginitive every year. Mind you if we had a trip to Dortmund lined up I'd be mighty annoyed if it turned out to be a behind closed dors friendly. What's the point Wycombe going to Germany for a training match?

to be honest, I expected the game to be against the "U23" and taking place in the "Rote Erde" which is the former ground of the club.
The "major" pre-season friendly will take place in the Westfalenstadion against AS Rom or Valencia.
The new training pitches are quite nice but there are just a few steps from which you can watch...

Its all off now. We are still going to Germany to play 3rd Division side called SC Verl at the Stadium An Der Poststrasse whcih is 70 k from Dortmund. 5,000 capacity and fans allowed in. By sheer coinsidence Im in Germany at the same time but in Munich and I wont be going to the game too far and just a friendly. <_<
