Up there with my fave bands of all time, I have all their records.
My fave has to be all mod cons or sound effects.
Thankfully after many years in the wilderness there are bands around now who are influenced by such bands like the Jam - which makes for a good british music scene...at last! Much better than the garbage thats coming from America at the moment.
Check out some of these bands:-
DOGS
HOLLOWAYS
LITTLE MAN TATE (New song is rubbish though)
THE SUBWAYS
THE DEAD 60's
THE PADDINGTONS
THE RIFLES
THE OTHERS
+ many more
Also like- WOODY GUTHRIE, SPRINGSTEEN, NEIL YOUNG, THE CLASH, LEVELLERS, SMITHS, THE WHO, LIBERTINES, THE KINKS, THE SMALL FACES, DYLAN, RAMONES, PEARL JAM, BILLY BRAGG, ARCADE FIRE, TWO GALLANTS and a lot of soul/blues.

One of the best bands ever.
Saw 'em last night (well, "From the Jam" with Buckler and Foxton) first tour together since they split in 82. Foxton looks the same!
Doing another UK tour later this year

I'm actually starting to prefer the new album. I think the lyrics and the sound are more mature, the old album was quality but it sounded very raw i thought.
Yeah 505 is my favourite song on the album although i think Fluourescent Adolescent will be the biggest hit out of the singles they release from the album, it's like last album's Mardy Bum

Check out The Twang....went to see them last night and they put on a bloody good show!
BTW The Jam going undergorund is one of my fav songs ever! Good song for a funeral :D

Agreed about new Monkeys album, would say Brianstorm, Teddy Picker & Old Yellow Bricks are my top 3 on the album with Flourescent Adolescent being the one unlucky enough to just be squeezed into 4th.
Has anyone got any copies of the album editions of Balacla & Flourescent Adolescent please? Downloaded a bootleg of the album before it was released and have a version of Balaclava that skips and a live version of Flourescent Adolescent!! PM me if you can help, ta.
