Title: Standup Campaign Could End In Tears Next Week
PaulCFC - March 4, 2007 06:49 PM (GMT)
Man Utd given the whole South Stand at Boro @ £20 a ticket - the old bill and stewards are a nightmare when there are only a couple of thousand away fans with 5,000 mancs and assorted jibbers going to be interesting...
'I predict a riot'......

It's going to be a good do
However our 5k still has to be confirmed we have the South stand but no news yet on how many seats we have.

I think the ballot results have been delayed until tomorrow, they were supposed to be today  .
I heard a rumour that 'boro Police wanted to only give us 1,000 and leave the rest of the seats empty. Hope that's completely untrue though.

believe it or not about a month ago I had a dream that united had the whole end at boro and about 2 thirds was sat and most of the people in the united end were day trippers I hope this doesn't happen but I will be there and there is not a chance my arse will be on a seat at any point of the game
but back to the real world, yes there will be some trouble loads of pissed up united fans and ver the top police, I doubt that anyone will sit down.
if there is trouble then it just shows how much fans want to stand instead of sit, I can't wait this could be one of the best aways of the season as long as that dream doesn't come true!

Hey mancred I have had similar nightmares of going to a big away game and a load of day trippers ruining by sitting down like muppets problem was in real life it happened at man city away in 1999 - our biggest away win ever was ruined cos they only gave us 800 uncovered seats miles away from pitch and load of main standers went and just sat there - we won 2-1 and atmos was awful I was ashamed to be a Wycombe fan that day despite winning at Maine Rd. Made up for it 2 weeks later when we took 2500 to Lincoln on covered terrace and stayed up by scoring with 8 mins of season left - many ended up on the pitch and the noise was amazing. Just shows what a huge difference standing fans make

Ye it ruins an away game when your expecting a great atmos. but all the family stand goers sit down. Happened at Cheltenham thios year and it was terrible. Man Utd always stand away though. Ive never noticed you sitting.

Pretty much what happened according to people at the game. All united stood, trouble involving police being over the top outside and trouble with Boro fans who seem to hate us as much as newcastle <_<
