Title: Positioning Members
Description: Edit Your Profile
Argrillion - December 10, 2005 01:50 AM (GMT)
To better understand where are our members coming from, could everyone edit their profile and fill in their present location (town name) in the 'Member Title' section. Please complete your birthdate otherwise leave everything with dashes "--" before saving your amended profile. Hopefully, this way we know where are of us coming from.
Cheers! :)

Thanks everyone for your co-operation. My server is still down. I am now using a temporary internet line. I am working on a contingency plan to get my server up again.

Argrillion, I couldn't find the 'Member Title' in 'Edit Profile info'.
Argrillion - December 22, 2005 09:32 AM (GMT)
First, click on your login name. Then, 'Edit your Profile.' Following that, key in your town name in the 'Customize Member Title.' It right on top of the list. Remember to set your birth date to "--" before saving your profile.

Thanks for the instruction but still couldn't find it in the list.
.....
1. Your Date of Birth
2. Your Website URL
3. Your ICQ UIN
4. Your AOL Identity
5. Your Yahoo Identity
6. Your MSN Messanger Identity
7. Your Location
8. Your Interest
That's all. :(
Argrillion - December 23, 2005 12:38 AM (GMT)
Sunliners, it should right on top of the list you have there. Just above 'Your Date of Birth.' Please replace the 'Custom Member Title' with town you live in. By default, it should show 'Newbie.'
Sunliners - December 23, 2005 03:19 AM (GMT)
Sorry to say that, there is nothing above 'Your Date of Birth' as this is the first item in the list. I couldn't see 'Newbie' as well. Could it be the setting / configuration problem? :(
Argrillion - December 23, 2005 03:32 AM (GMT)
Sunliners, we will get admin Kelv_W to check on it. In the mean time, tell us more about yourself. What type of models do you build?

I think some members cannot change. I'm also one of them. Here's a screenshot. I think only those with 2 bars and above can customize the title.

aahh i see.. maybe
i guess we better leave it to the admin then.. :)
i thought all would be the same..

hope this can be clear-out soon :)

Argrillion, thanks for your help. BTW, just a brief info about myself, I'm from Penang Island and am in Aircraft, Warship, Figures and some Armour but collect more than built. (I've been infected by Modeller's Disease).
I'm currently working on 1/32 MiG-29 TUDM (Just started.....and hopefully can be completed in the near future. You know what I mean - Disease #2 ) :P

Just my 2 cents thought ... probably when we have more than 10 posts for Newbies, the option to customize Member's Title would appear. Try it guys!

Like you got infected with Modellers Disease #2, my 1/32nd MiG-29 is all over my table for more than 6-months. The Revell kit is horrible and I got tired of cutting and puttying. Yes, I m also building a TUDM version but with the old camo. Not to keen with the new camo. How's far are you into the MiG?
Sunliners - December 23, 2005 05:42 AM (GMT)
Ya, do agree with you. The Revell kit is horrible. (Awaiting for the Trumpeter kit)
Just started this project two weeks ago. At fisrt, I wanted to build this OOB but guess what ... I'm now trying to improve and do some detailing on the landing gear with styrene and brass. (this project could be an never ending story)
For the color scheme, I will definitely go for the old camo.
Any pics of your MiG?
Sunliners - December 23, 2005 05:54 AM (GMT)
Alpha7, I've managed to put in the 'Member Title'. :D
Try yours.

Argrillion - December 23, 2005 06:26 AM (GMT)
Sunliners, my MiG is in pieces and I really mean in pieces. I cut a lot of parts out. Did the normal modifications on the wings and readjusted the cockpit with Eduard. My CAM resin cockpit just arrived but I have yet to put everything together. Made some brass louvers for the top air intakes as I wanted them to be in close position. Will try to get some pics but I only can do this after 1 Jan 2006. Taking a break next week.

cool....
glad to hear you finally can edit the location.. :)
Sunliner
why dont you create a topic in the Progress report subforum.. maybe others can benefit from it... (including me.. since i also have the same kits as yours.. 1/32 MIG29 Revel Monogram)
and since Argrillion also building it then it again can be aGroup build same as the SU-27...
i'll start my Flanker maybe next week... now trying to finalize my F-22... :)
maybe i'm infected with Disease #2 as well.. :(
=======================
and we have another forumers from Penang Island/.... :)
where do you get your kits Sunliner? Parkson Prangin Mall??
so Argrillion.. any chance of an event in Penang? :)

:( After many false starts, I'm still stuck with my unfinished Tamiya KV-1. It's not a very accurate kit so I decided to fix some of the more glaring flaws with as little financial investment (ie no after market stuff). Boy! Am I rusty.
I have also started building OOTB my very old Dragon Mi-28 Havoc as warm up. :)
Sunliners - December 23, 2005 08:06 AM (GMT)
Kuman, I usually get my kits from MH and HHQ. They are having year end sales right now. Toycity at Gurney plaza does have some Trumpeter kits but way too expensive. Just got my TUDM decal and some PE last week at HHQ.
That's good idea to start a progress report on MiG-29. It will keep up the momentum and keep away from the disease #2. :P

great... :)
so you go all the way to KL MH & HHQ for your kits?? impressive.. :)
yea... make a progress report.. then i can join in as well.. since my "Home Ministry" bising already to see my MIG-29 completed... (since she sponsored it)
Progress report might get the momentum going... but for it'll always be an OOB build...
i wonder if HHQ or MH got that F16D Block 52+ kits anywhere.. can anyone check?
:)

I do travel down to KL sometimes (busniess trip) but whenever I go, they will follow me back to Penang. :P Kuman, where you get your kit from?

i travel to KL ages ago.. but didnt got a chance to go to HHQ or MH (since i dont know how to go places in KL)
i always get my kits from any place i can find...
last purchase was from Parkson Prangin Mall...
only recently i try venturing online to get my kits (not a very good idea) note Disease #3
in fact just received the Macross kits from HLJ a couple of days back...
maybe we can meet-up in Penang and get some kits here... but at last Toycity is OVERLY expensive.. :(

Adrian, forget about modifying the Tamiya KV-1. With all the time spent, you might as well get the latest Trumpeter KV's at RM60 less 10% off. I have Tamiya KV-2 and I am not thinking of any after-marts for it.
On the other hand, the Dragon Havoc maybe a good start. Let's have some progress pics bro!

Got your PM and I will check it out for when I am in HHQ tomorrow. I would need your contact number in case it appears before my eyes.
No 1/32nd Academy for you? The Barak set from IsraDecal will rock you of your chair if you see it. Very, very nice decals.

Jst came back Visiting Gurney's Toy City last night..~ Basically they are having Sales on Tamiya kit now at 20% off, which wasn't few weeks ago...and all the Armor/Planes were gone..at least left 2~3 boxes compared to previous 10+...~ An opportunity missed..~
Anyhow, checked on Trumpeter's 1/350 Jeremiah O'brien..they are selling at RM199 with 10% off...~ At 1st thought it's only RM99 thus went there last night thinking of purchasing...but....at RM199....well....~
Argrillion - December 27, 2005 03:09 AM (GMT)
Maybe, just maybe you can get better offer here in KL. 20 to 50% discount on selected kits.
