Ace Hardware has it but the last I saw they were running low in stock. BTW, did you see yellowing after application of Future? Heard from some modellers tint of yellow is beginning to appear after many months of application.

Luckily I've stocked up an extra bottle muahaha. Seemed pretty hard to come by these days. I noticed my future looks abit off-yellow-ish. Probably been in the storeroom for too long. But so far my models applied with future still looks good. No yellowing after 1 -2 years.

That's good to know Kelvin. Otherwise my Future coated white decals are gone.

You could try checking out the 1/144 B-1A prototype at Miniature. I coated it with future about 1-2 years back. Whole plane is white... not sure if it yellowed but still looks white to me though. :P

can anyone post how the packaging looks like in the Malaysia market? it would be easier to find if i/we know how the packaging looks like? :)

here ya go.. it's the same as the US counterpart. I don't think Makro, Carrefour carries it... only ACE so far.

i read in some of the forum...the yellowish problem its not due to the future its the color u used..they said white is the culprit....
coz all my model its not turning yellowish yet eventhough all been treated with futture. even after 4 yrs.

anyway where is this ace hardware located...detail adress and tel no if possible

There are two Ace Hardware located in shopping centres. One of them is in Mid Valley and the other in IKANO, Mutiara Damansara. Where do you come from drmere? Are you from Klang Valley?

i think i saw a couple of bottle of "WINDEX" in my local supermarket last time... again.. can anyone post a pics of that popular windex in Malaysia market?

so does windex have the same properties as Future?
what does it do actually? for coating as well??

Windex is used to remove Future coated surface. It's basically diluted ammonia with perfume. I suppose any glass cleaners solution can be used instead of Windex. Otherwise, you can make Windex yourself with diluted ammonia and lime.

You can get Future at ACE Hardware Ikano. Bought one bottle a few weeks ago.

I have three brand new bottles of Future. Please PM me if you need them. I can get 5 more bottles if required. Can't keep a lot with me; very expensive per bottle.

In fact, it seems like pretty hard to get any modelling tools lately in Penang or Northen Region..~

Though heard a modelling shop just opened 2 days ago located somewhere near Gama/Komtar..~ Shop owner was previously a toy shop concentrating in collections like Action Figures, Gashapons and the likes..~ Havent been there yet, but will check it out once i am free and update if there's any modelling tools he's selling..~

Wahh...Kuman, Hobby Acme in Komtar closed down like 3~4 years ago ar...now is located in Prangin Mall..though concentration on Model Kit was down to like 5% of old stock only...owner now focusing on RC...~

And last heard from some KL friends, Toy City lost the marketing lead for Tamiya, thus Toy City in Prangin has closed down and the one in Gurney seems to be cutting down stocks..~ Hardly can find anything new there..and total of all Tamiya Kits doesn't even exceed 20 boxes..~ Though having sales of 1/12 Bike buy 1 free 1..~ :blink:

Perhaps you should check out the Komtar Hobby Shop located at level 2..~ Location's rather secluded so if you need some direction when you're in Pg, PM me so i can give you a more detail directions..~ Though open only on Sat & Sun as Owner has other permanent job..~ :D

Yeah ..pretty ironic since I think that's the fastest moving product off the shelf. haha. I'm still using the 1st bottle I bought about 2-3 years back and it's barely touching half the bottle. But I only use it for the final coating and canopy dipping. I think it's gonna last me a lifetime haha. It's about 798ml :)

so... what else can we use it for other then floor waxing, canopy dipping,final coating and decal setting?

wah... for an avid modeller like yourself you only use "barely" touching half bottle... wow...

so after we pour in other container, can we pour back in the bottle? or will this spoilt the FUTURE?

Chemically, best not to mix used Future with new Future. You pour some Future in a jam jar and you use it for a long time. Same goes for leftover paints from after an airbrush session.

Future is an acrylic floor finish. It's original purpose is as a glossy coating to protect wooden floors, etc.

Modellers airbrush it on their models to protect the paint. The glossy surface allows decals to stick better and protects the paint when you apply your wash and weathering.

It's also good at repairing scratches on clear plastic parts such as canopies.
