huh. This is a really good tutorial. But i still dont understand what did he use for making the wave like figure? something gooey and i think its not putty. Anyone know? I also saw in other youtube video where some westeners also used the same stuff and he said that the cost for making the water or waves effect cost less then 5 bucks :o

Well, it is called silicone. It is usually used to seal pipes and leaks. Smells like vinegar and can easily corrode metals in an instant.

It is easily available here in Malaysia for a very cheap price (I got two tubes at home) but you need to have well ventilated room to use this because the smell can be disturbing (cuba cium cuka tengok tahan ke tak... hahaha).

What puzzles me is that why did he mix Tamiya white paints with the silicone since the white silicone is available (not sure if it is available in Japan) here in Malaysia. There are even black, white and clear silicone available in the market easily... :D

The snow powder sprinkled on the wave crest is microspheres that floats on top of the silicon wave.

Exactly the first thing that comes across my mind... :D Really excellent material for replicating bubbles...

Yes we have MDF routed bases, clear or white silicon sealant, caulking gun, aerosol PU foam for huge tsunami (Permits sculpting as it cures), Microspheres, concentrated pigments/dyes etc.

Druid 99 ,

Adding white to clear silicon is for transluncency with tint of white. White silicon is too opaque for water effect.
