Title: Model Kit Shops In Jakarta

Joeker - October 23, 2009 03:04 PM (GMT)
Was in Jakarta recently.

Stayed in Hotel Mulia Senayan and went to the malls near my hotel.

There this place called Senayan IT Mall (next to Sogo)

There are about a dozen shops selling model kits and die cast cars inside this mall.

Anyone going to Jakarat might wanna consider dropping by this place (and be relieved of a small fortune :D)

Here are some pics to get ya'll aroused.

so how was the price of kits over there?

Price? I don't know is considered mahal or murah compare with KL because I'm not collector.

But I saw lots of kits never/rarely seen in KL.

And the workmanwhip of completed kits is quite hi.

my home is about 5 minutes walk from these model shops, well i dont really go there much as they dont really have what i wanted, but price wise they are okay, due to the fact the rentals in STC is dirt cheap...compared to SC which is just across the street but rentals cost 20 times more.
now the problem with these model shop is they dont really specialized in models kits alone, they sell all kind of rojak, its okay for a look see but when comes to serious kits i doubt they could offer you much.

but still as a shopper i would prefer a model shop that offer advice and insight...guys like Towkay Low in KL and Peter in jakarta...if the kit is bad they will tell you its bad...

Anyway, try to avoid staying at Hotel Mulia

I learn it the hard way.

Mulia Hotel rate for foreigner is in USD T.T

And the Hotel rate fluctuates against the Rupiah to USD exchange.

It was a double whammy when I check out T.T
