Brother x nampak tadi...

As for camo, there's around 3 major way of doing it.
1. Free hand
2. Blue tac
3. Paper mask, wet or soft

Among all three, I still prefer free hand, it saves me more time

Free hand.
1. Draw the edge of the camo with pencil if you have not much confidence to spray directly
2. Starting with the lightest color, make sure you thinned the paint more, 7:3 Paint:thinner ratio
3. Adjust the compressor pressure to a low one, around 5psi
4. Spray either 90 degree, but it's better facing inner of the camo to prevent over-feathered.
5. Filled the rest of the paint.

Blue tac,
1. use blue tac to mask the edges, then the rest with masking tape and paper
2. remember not to spray a heavy and wet coat to prevent "bleeding"

Paper masking
1. Cut paper to the camp shape, or you can photocopy your manual to the required scale and cut out the unwanted portions.
2. for dry mask, hold the mask with blue tac and spray accordingly, dry spraying please. as for wet masking, dip the paper in water and then apply it to the surface, then wipe the exposed surface with a dry cloth, begin spraying

Some camo schemes are hard edged and some are soft edged. Wet paper masking / masking tape techniques typically result in hard edge. Free hand & bluetac typically result in soft feathered edges.

For your Eurocopter, the camo should be soft edge so you can either do free hand or use blue tac, that is presuming you have an airbrush.....

Blu Tack is available in most stationary shops. What is blu-tack?

Paint to thinner ratio is the amount of paint to thinner mix. 1:3 paint to thinner would mean 1 part paint to 3 parts thinner.

The very very very special kind, which is.....(drum roll).... your average ordinary A4 paper ^_^

haaaa..!! :o A4 paper?? are u kidding me?? i ingat some special paper.. so, need to `rendam' the paper or just apply a little bit of water only??

PoohBear - October 13, 2009 07:47 AM (GMT)
Just give the paper a quick dip and apply onto your kit. Clear any excess water and gently spray your colours. If the paper dries up, just spread some water to make it wet again. Do one section at a time, making sure to cover any areas you don't want to overspray.

Obviously, you should test on a piece of scrap before proceeding onto your much beloved kit ^_^
