Finally finished!

Started working on this kit back on 1 May 2008 (!)

This project was stalled when I could not achieve the weathering effects wanted, with the existing skillset then.

I left it on my shelf for so long, the springs have rusted and the decals turned yellow.

Learnt two new techniques this year; Sponge Chipping and Hairspray Technique over at Mig forums, I am glad to say I am happy with the finishing on this model.

Enough talk, here're the pics !

Very nice rendition on the armor weathering. The texture works really well too.

The colours for the figurine may need a bit more color depth and richness though as the painting quality just doesn't match the exterior. Maybe a bit of washes for a start just to break down the surfaces?

yeah... the figure gave it away... without him... the suit looks REAL...!!! the weathering obviously shows that you did it with much understanding of how the machine works...!!

:D Congratulation..good job..but pay attension to the decal..like it's floating from the base figure color..the trick is

1 - paint the kit
2 - gloss it..or just the area you want to put the decal
3 - matt it..weathred it and finally wash..just try and error might help you

:D good job

Thanks for the tips Blackheart, will try to remember that for future builds.

Wow ... the outcome is truly amazing, on top of learning something new. I have just gotta try this out.

BTW, how do you do the sponge chipping? Or is that when you apply the brush with warm water over?
