IPOH: The KD Seri Inderapura, the Royal Malaysian Navy’s biggest landing craft, caught fire while berthed at the RMN base jetty here.

The fire was reported to have occurred at about 6am on Thursday and efforts are still underway to put it out.

Manjung OCPD ACP Mohd Jamil Osman said that according to the preliminary report, the fire involved the office and storage areas and no injuries were reported.

Police have yet to receive a report from the RMN in Lumut, he said when contacted. -- Bernama.

so what REALLY happened? ... and i don't mean the 'official' explanation, you know how much they like to 'cover-up' things :unsure:

I heard the news from a mate yesterday morning. It seems that the burn is quite bad.. the fire reached the bridge..

well it should now be public knowledge... RMN looking for new Landing craft ... hmmm ... <_<

Since Najib is in France, maybe can nego for 2nd hand french LST!

Oooo....Kospirasi......now need to buy new LST......hmmmmm

Actually, Govt has planned to purchase couple of new LST 4-5 years ago. Guess, this one speed it up!!! Yam Seng!!! Now back to modeling.....

KD Inderapura just wouldn't go quietly. Apparently, the charred remains caught fire again this morning!

hmm ... "double boiled soup" is pretty common with the chinese cruisine but for ships to double burn ... :o

Since the PM is now in France ... perhaps he could also detour to poland / germany / spain and then on the way back to india / china and ..... :P :P sorry cannot help...

Actualy when US Navy use this LCT before RMN any fire on board recorded. This seem to happen suddenly continuos one after another when transfer to RMN. Is it because RMN do not like second hand thing?
