Might be a bit off topic, ....but thought of asking around........any insights on the play station 3 ? is is a good buy ? ....thinking of buying one........as saw some good games that can be played on it......
Totally know nothing about playstations.......any advise will be much appricated........I assume it can plug into any LCD TV right ? how bout the sound can it go via a dedicated home teater system ?

The last time I heard about it, it was cheaper than Wii. Simply because Malaysia market's PS3 haven't been cracked yet, thus can only play genuine PS3 games. That was months ago, I haven't follow the latest news and price.
I haven't got a friend who has it, so I'm not sure how it turns out to be.
If they release a good Final Fantasy game on PS3, I'll be investing on it. Just I bought PS2 because of FFX.
Well there are some very goood games in store for the PS3 eg Gundam, ACE Combat and the Tekken series to name a few.
Saw the new "slim" versions (the version that has a 120gb memory space) on some retail shelfs too and priced pretty competitive against the X box 360 ... circa RM 1200/-
now the bad news bout this console...
1. the PS 3 still remains one of the "uncracked" game console so if you intend to own this console be prepared to pay for the games. A Sony PS 3 game retails for about RM 200 ea. :angry:
2. although there is a HDMI feature with the console but its only available for HDMI LCD TVs ... pretty useless function when malaysian TV still not fully HDMI yet ... :( ..
3. Sony Malaysia still has not brought in the new console so those retailed versions are parallel imported (ie tadak warranty by Sony Malaysia)... :blink:
Of course the list goes on and on about Sony vs X Box 360... but at least in Malaysia if you play the stand alone console perhaps X Box would be a more viable option... then again ... depends on the "player" lah ...
WII console targets a very different audience ... unless you really into Mario and friends ... look else where...

me also contemplating on the idea of PS3 vs XBOX360 awhile ago..
based on my searching and researching.. XBOX360 is the way to go for now.. :D
