Hi guys...
Another work-in-progress from me. This is actually just to prove myself that I can finish bulding a model kit in less than 5 years for a kit.
I'm building the 1/24 Lotus Europa Special by Tamiya. It is a slightly old kit but a very good kit nonetheless.

Sorry for the lack of in-progress update because I just started building this last weekend and all modifications were done, assembled and painted before I manage to take any pictures.
First off is the engine. I have assembled and painted the engine. Just to give some highlight to the engine, I painted the cam-head cover in red although the instructions said it should be black... the beauty of scale car modelling.. All the plumbing works will be done later.

The steering has also recieved some extra attention. The holes has been drilled with various sizes of drillbits. This adds some extra detail that people might or might not realize on the model... at least I know that I have done it....

Next is the chasis works. I have assembled and painted the chasis. This is a straight-forward build and plumbing works will also be done on it later. I have test fitted the engine on the chasis... fit is as the usual Tamiya standard. :) The brakes has also given the same treatment where I painted the front brake calipers and the rear drum brake in red just to give some highlight on it (not that it will be visible after the tyres and rims are attached... )
I also test fit the chasis to the lower body of the car and dry fit the small details that will be attached to it. Some putty work is needed to cover the sink marks. Apart from that, everything fits perfectly.

Finally... test fitting the body to the chasis. Again, the body fits perfectly and apart from the normal molding lines, there are no sink marks whatsoever. Some putty is needed to fill the minimal gap on the lower part of the car.

That's all on the progress for now. I can say that the progress is about 50% currently and all that needs to be sone is to paint the interior, clean up and paint the body and all the plumbing works before I can say that this build is done.
I am trying to get this finished before the Auto and Bike Group Build... :D
