Title: Hms Bounty

when a guy gets sick of modelling guess the best cure is find and build an impossible to build kit :P
this old airfix Hms Bounty kits fits the bill, its almost 35years old and its rubbish. building it straight OOB will be a joke, they got everything wrong from the planking, to gun mount and right up to the riggings and not to mention the wrong sail count on the main mast. then the amount of flash on each parts..

on the plus side is....you have a freehand in painting this boat, simply bcos Admiralty papers did not mention the colours used, except it had a brand new copper plated kneel.

stacking it up against Heller,s classic, the bounty is a small rat

wahlawei sifu, now u playing with ships pulak hehe :P :P . Looking at the sprue, very scary, so many things to do :o . What happened to the tanks? :P . Anyway good to see that you still have your teh tarik beside the kit :ph43r:  hahaha.

Since they did not send any colour instructions, maybe its suppose to be brown coz the design on the hull looks like suppose to be wood colour.

go..go.....go........

a colour instruction is included in this kit, except i doubt it is correct, i presume airfix is guessing on the colour scheme.
Bounty had a very short service life, and most of all its a minor ship in the Royal Navy, paid for by a privateer , so not much information about it was documented in the Admiralty Papers( navy records).

haha, the whole ship is made of wood my friend, except for the copper platting nailed to a wooden hull.

theres two replica made of the bounty , one in the 60s for the movie mutiny on the bounty with marlon bandon, another one is build in australia for the same movie with mel gibson, and both ship have different colour scheme. i guess the builders knew they have a freehand in painting this ship.

the inner boards lacks details...typical of 70s model kit. its has to be rework

wonder if one has to crawl under or climb over to get off this boat, another booboo from airfix.

after rework. everything has to done section by section, for the sake maintaining quality rework.this will no be a rush job
