c&C welcomed as there is a lot to do for the kain pelikat, baju melayu, etc....

Wah, you're sculpting the "Bapa Kemerdekaan" is it? Looks good.

Few comments though... the songkok looks a bit big. It will look better if you can make it smaller a bit. In the last picture the hand positioning looks a bit off.. maybe because of the extra putty on the shirt I think... other than that, a very good modification. :D

Druid,
this is my first attempt in major remodelling as I had to practically take everything apart in the original kit part ( adopted from a 1:20 scale tyre pit crew set from Tamiya ).
The facial features were obviously caucasian so I had to remodel the nose and give him a more prominent chin pouch. A bit of a grin line was given including drilling out the mouth, adding teeth and thickening the lower lips.

Originally I wanted to do a diorama of 3 children figures watching TV of Tunku during the merdeka declaration, but I was told that TV was only available in the 60s, so I had to scrap the idea. Listening to the radio was did not have enough visual clues, I will keep that idea for a future project.
Tunku was going to be ambitious as I was not confident that I could pull it off and I am sure there are some copyright or family rights issues, so this piece will not be known as Tunku.

As for the quality of the remodelling, this is one of those pieces where its nice from far but far from nice because I am still learning about the characteristics of Bondite. The overall piece still has a lt of uneven surfaces, fingerprint marks, pits, etc as bondite is really sticky up until an hour later in the mid of setting.

You are right about the songkok and baju. Need a bit of filing later.

Cheers

Loo

One tip on using Bondite (I'm sure you are aware of this) is to wet your finger and run it through on the uneven surface to make it smoother. This will reduce the sanding work in the later stage.
