Title: 1:35 Beca
Description: WIP
YGTan - August 22, 2009 04:52 PM (GMT)
This is my 1st scratch build kit. struggle a bit on some parts, but I'm happy with the out come so far.
This was build using 2 Tamiya's 1:35 WWII Bicycle. All the green parts in the photos are from the kit. The rest of the parts were scratch build with plastic rods, scrap plastic board, 2 part exposy, copper wires and masking tape. Will start painting tomorrow. Hopefully can finish by end of the week.
Some pre-painting pics. The brown thing under the sit is at temporary stand to support the it.

C&c are most welcome.

Wah YGTan, a unique subject indeed...
Just a suggestion, instead of the normal beca, maybe you can build the Malacca beca with all the "accessories".
One suggestion. Maybe you can use thinner plastic rods or wire to replicate the support for the passenger cover. Just a suggestion lah... :)

Yes support for cover too thick. These support are hinge connected like paper fan to retract cover to the back when not in use.

thanks for the comment guys.
I intentionally use thicker rod for the passenger cover support, worry it can't support the weight of the cover. But since I use masking tape to make the cover, I think the weight is not an issue :P :P :P but doubt got time to re-do it. :( :(
Imran, the Malacca version is way beyond my skill level to scratch build la
Painting should be done tomorrow nite. Hopefully can update more pic tomorrow nite.

All parts painted waiting for assembly. Found one problem when fitting the wheels to the sit. The sit got heavy back site :P :P :P Need to find some way to solve that prob.

Lovely choice of colors YG. The colors bounce off each other well. For the heavy seat looks like you may need to used a thin wire rod to support the heavy seat. Now all this lovely beca needs is a fat, grumpy old lady for a passenger and a poor, skinny, undernourished beca driver. :D

I believe that's your expertise, beachbum  !
Interesting subject! Some wash and highlights could improve the looks. Hope to see this in the flesh this weekend!

That's exactly what I have in mind   but my skill is no where near there.
Kuman,
next one will be similar to the pic you post :) Planning to build the Penang version some time soon.
Finally finish the build but can't solve the heavy back problem, decided to make a simple base and stick the bace to the base.
Here's the pic.

waiting for the Penang version as well.. D:
so the this beca now can constantly "wheelie" la due to the weight :D
with some simple base definetely will make it cuter :D
