Hi

Thought shared with you the wonderful experience I had end June when I visited Young Miniature studio. The owner Young is the nicest and most hospitable guy I ever meet. He and family is so kind and came to pick me up and showed me the beautiful old town and finally visited his house and studio. His work seen in flesh only one word can describe thai is "WOW!!!!!"

He organised a showed once every 2 years called NOVEM at Gyeon Ju (North of Busan) and you can see more details at Calvin's block in his last visit.

I also had the chance to meet up several other good Korean modellers and I am surprised how young they are.. in mid to late 20's (MJ and Lee), brilliant painters.

All in all, very proud to see Asian modellers are advancing to international standard in figure painting and sculpting and certainly hope this can encourage and inspire all of you. If had chance, encourage you to visit some international shows (plan with your holiday...) or shop like M-Workshop in Singapore good place to start.

Pls see Young's latest bust at this website, I had this one too, beautiful, there is a small action figure hanging from the back pouch.. pls go and have a look.

One could say for a figure painter this is as close to figure "paradise" one can get at least on the Asian side. :) The showcase behind you already speak volumes. Its nice to note Mr. Young himself is a friendly chap as well.

Thanks for sharing this with us Allan. Must stop drooling now.....
