Title: Enthusiast Model
Description: Expert level

sky_tokyodrifter - July 22, 2009 01:55 PM (GMT)
Hi again people.

I dont know if any of you are aware or not about this kit. I learned from brother Druid regarding this kit. Produced by FUJIMI, this is the ENTHUSIAST series. All enthusiast series were produced by FUJIMI back in the 80s when Fujimi was rich at that time. They decided to come up with this magnificant kit that was ment for professional builders.

Why ment for professional builders? because this kit that I bought comes with 181 parts. Thats right 181 parts which I counted for 'pair' parts as 1 and not 2. Complete with engine details and also stuff like tool kits etc. Only PE sets are not available. 1 particular kit that i saw, it had 240 plus parts inside (forgot which car)

The only sad thing is that since it was built during the 80s, only old or classic kits are available like PORSCHE, FERRARI, LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH etc.

There are 2 ways to know if it is the enthusiast series or not.
1) The Germany flag colour as shown below
2) The kit has an 'ENTHUSIAST MODEL' written on them.

Even the pedals come separately

My advice is for those who want to build super detail kit, find this enthusiast model series by FUJIMI

If you're asking when I'm gonna build this? I have no idea, my skill still upside down :P

I lost the list of available kits from the enthusiast series but maybe after brother druid reads this thread he will be able to provide the links ^_^

heard of this kit, but never had a chance to look at one at my hand :P

one thing that put me off is the model is usually old model from 80's and earlier, while my fav car model usually start from 90's

This kit offers the modeller with two option.

1- to display the kit with the engine beside it. Engine stand included; complete with specification decal.
2- to fit in the engine inside the car.

The complexity of assembling this kit is akin to building an actual car. Druid and I have assembled one of this kit: a Lamborghini Countach.

How complex? Imagine when you fit in the engine into the engine bay, you have to ensure the gear housing is properly aligned so that when you stick in the gear lever, it goes straight from the interior into the gear housing.

Seats are not merely 1 piece seat. It comes in parts so that when you have assemble the seats, it can actually recline! Seatbelt buckles are not stamped on. It comes as a separate part and you have to use paper to make the seatbelt straps and attach it to the buckle.

Door hinges are workable and so does the pop-out lights. Wiring diagram and wires included.

As far as I know, few selected models are produced in this Enthusiast Model series. Most of them are Porsches. Some BMW, Ferraris and Lamborghini.

Just an additional info, Fujimi has re-released a few of the Enthusiast model (almost all the Ferrari's in the series) but with no more beautiful box art, no German flags and no more indication that it is an Enthusiast Series (unless you check for the series in HLJ).

I have almost all the Ferrari Enthusiast model series except the Dino GTB and GTS. :D
