Hi guys, being so busy with uneasiness life make me thought to quit from modelling...hahaha...forgotten that I’ll die earlier if I stop from thinking about it, well life must go on, I’m so numb btw...after all, the mess....I’d decided to post as I felt that quite challenging subject to share with.
...PANZERZUG BP-44 by Armageddon

...never heard about it before but from box art its quite impressive though...landed 2 month ago, well, as usual, I’m not care to check the content and just throw it aside because busy with other things. I’d open the box last 2 week and ask my brother to start assemble as usual....no wonder...starting from that moment my bro look unhappy n he was not on the schedule as well...hahaha...

Some Descriptions of PANZERUG BP-44-...i just cut and paste from web...

A Brief Panzerzug History
Germany had used armored trains in WWI, but prior to the start of WWII the armored train was seen as something of a relic by the German defense force, the Reichswehr, and its government renamed successor in 1935, the Wehrmact. The Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG), or German National Railway between 1920 and 1945, saw armored trains as a way to preserve and advance a military presence. By keeping a strong military face on this state owned railroad, the Reichsbahn looked to increase both their state funding as well as their national prestige.

The BR57 locomotive was actually based on the Prussian series G10 locomotive first built in 1910 and featuring an 0-10-0 wheel arrangement. Prussia was the single largest territory in Germany until it was, as a state, abolished by the Nazis in 1934. At this point Germany would have simply absorbed the Prussian locomotive fleet and renamed the G10 to the BR57, then gone on to refit the BR57 into its armored state.

Two Panzerzug Variations
The 1942 BP-42 was the first version of the standardized armored train. It would have the BR57 locomotive and two tenders at its core, with 5 armored wagons on either side. These armored trains were numbered 61 through 72.

The BP-44 developed two years later was numbered 73 to 84, although only 9 or 10 were finished by the end of the war. The armament and anti-aircraft wagons was upgraded from the BP-42 and a Panzerjagerwagon was added, this Panzerjagerwagon was a self-contained trolley (electrical drive from on-board batteries) that could perform short range reconnaissance. The chart below shows the 5 wagons on both sides of the BR57 armored locomotive in both the BP-42 and the BP-44 trains.

As I said all parts are not in numbering....if it’s in number I also will separate it from an ugly sprue
Challenge was begun.....................

Fitting was scary....scratch built myself is much easier i thought...anyway...manage to assemble all major parts...
user posted image
During the sanding process...some of the rivets are gone...adeiiii...I’d to replaced it with dot of super glue...it’s not a good idea i think...because its hard to drop in uniform seizes...but well...its better than no rivet at all...

Just found this model kit in a couple of on-line shops and the price is shocking... I don't think I am prepared to pay RM700++ (before shipping) for pieces of crap... (pardon the french)...

Scrap the plan to buy this as reference... better just build what I have... :)

Hi Dremel,

Amazing job replacing the rivets! They look great!

For people with less skill like myself, maybe Archer's Rivets-On-A-Decal might help
Archer Surface Details

Armageddon also released a 1/72 LCT, a unique and very interesting subject but because of the very bad reviews of their products, I have decided against getting one.

:D Haha...sorry for the late reply guys...i’d been viewing ur comments...but i rather make it 1 times....
Here a new progress for this ‘keropok’....as i said....almost all teh holder are incomplete...the manufacture knew it thou and they provided a role of copper wire...there are a number of holder that i need to replace...size need to be equal to save the outlook of this kit....usually i’ll make a template to bend the copper wire to the shape...it’s help to speed up the process as well....
We can make a few sizes by cutting 2mm plastic as pic’s....pic’s will show what i meant
Measure the width of the holder
user posted image
Glue it on top of another plastic...and slot the wire in between...
user posted image
Bend it and cut....we can get an equal size

Start attaches the wire holder....

I agree, this "thing" if compared with even the worst kit I've build, mine is like kacang puteh :o

pemlow - July 17, 2009 05:43 AM (GMT)

HobbyHQ had brought in a full range of MACH 2 kits several years ago. The selling point is that the titles are unique especially some of those 1/72 large kits which no other manufacturer dare to produce.

I can recalled not many of my customer buying this product.
They're mostly very learned people like Doctors and suceedful businessmen, people who know a lot of history and is a collector. Another reason is that the kit is not cheap.

This is a one-man run company from France. He make his kits from his backyard.
His is not copy product like Zengdefu. It's not fair to compares original with pirated products.

BV, Ahhow-...the truth is...this kit worst....not because of the moulding alone....lastic also like 'keropok'...very brittle....some of the small parts need to rebuilt or scratchbuilt....

Pemlow- totally agreed, i'd built some of vaxform kit before, 1/48 TSR-2, 1/72 Nimrod...forgoten the brand name thou....its even worst than this....i knew 2-3 person who was buying this kind of stuff...normally they are establish people n got a huge collections....and they all not the builder as well....hahaha

dremel - July 20, 2009 05:21 AM (GMT)
3rd post....as we knew from the begin...this kit is sucks...more and more part i’ve to replaced...works with next coach...see pic’s...
Same problem again...this coach had a railing on top of it....i tried to use their parts...as what i said before....it’s will broken even when i tried to cut it from the sprue....i make my own...i tried different style, i can use 1.5mm rod and bend it according to the shape, btw....i tried this method...it’s very good to practice carving skills...

Trace upper shape and cut 2mm plastic...

druid_99 - July 28, 2009 04:58 AM (GMT)
Saudara Naza,

Really nice work bro... you really have a lot of patience to scratchbuild the small2 things... with plastic!!! and in 1/72nd scale somemore!!!... Salute you lah bro... :D

Ha jadi railway modeller pulak...buat OO scale layout....thats a nice idea with the tunnel....boleh buat from poly pipe jamban..

How about sebelah tu bukit, lagi sebelah gaung and bridge (the BR52 stengah tergantung over bridge kat depan display)..lagi dramatik he he

Altho from my research dulu I dont think BR52 larat tarik both Leopold and Morser at the same time....tapi takpe, looks impressive from model perspective.....or, you can tambah one more BR52 jadi kepala 2 loco :P

Steady! Balls to the Wall!!
