Title: Fairlady Z Version Nismo
Description: Straight Fast Built
Entau - July 13, 2009 02:35 AM (GMT)
OK, my hand really itchy, so i started this kit last week :P
This will be a straight fast built, target 3 weeks, reason is because this is a VERY simple kit, no suspension details, front wheel can't turn, all mold together under chassis details, but still, this is a very sharp and nice mold from tamiya, that's why i choose it for a fast built :)
The kit

The PE set from Crazy Modeler

Dryfit, almost perfect, except some area with 0.2mm, but thats all

I've prime the body with surfacer 1200 + white base 1000 at a 3:7 ratio because i want to paint the body in red, and i was lazy to prime 1st then base white, turn out that strong lights will pass at some area because whitebase was not good to conceal lights, so next time must prime 1st
only 1 area need to cover seamlines, which is the front grill and bumper lips

under chassis all mold together, no suspension, front wheel can't turn

this will be the colour, RED + GUN METAL, both custom mixed, RED is Mr Color Shine Red + Super Italian Red 1:1 ratio, while the GUN METAL is Mr Color Gun Chrome + Black 4:6 ratio

wahlaweiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii   hehe.
I have a feeling that this mod of yours is going to be something different hehe. Why not add modifications to this baby by custom build giant intercoolers in the front fender. Sure will be something different. Hehe. Broder druid also wanted to custom his leopard so I think you shuld too :P . Gotta bring the cars section to a totally different level hehe.
1st question:
The PE set from crazymodeler, can it fit to the Tamiya kit?
2nd Question:
I thought that Tamiya's brand would make better quality parts. But most of the parts seem to be in contact with the frame <_< exhaust, lower arm bar, center manifold and so many more.
Haiya what a bummer. No realism at all. Very unlikely of Tamiya to produce this weird kit with all the under parts intact. huhu maybe they were in a hurry to finish this one.
P/s: Change the alloywheels to a 19 or 20 inch rims :P and bring that baby to the grounddddddddd

Sorry Sky, i want a FAST built, since i already bought the PE set earlier, no choice but to use it, most probably i will not use everyhing.
the PE i havent try yet, hopefully it fits nicely, will updates the PE ASAP :P
this kit is the same a the 350Z, only rim and body is different, super over simplified, but still a very nice kit ^_^
thats the reason i duwan to mod this kit, is a simple kit, so i'll try to built is as fast as possible, my previous fastest built was like 4-5months. I'll try to make it 3 weeks or not 4 weeks this time :D

Hopefully
but if u look at the manual, only 9 steps, the most complicated part is the interior, but its not really that complicated if compare to WRC cars :P
this is a very beginner kit IMO, suitable for first timer, so i guess i wouldn't take me too much time.

Body prime with surfacer 1200 INSIDE, and lightly spray on the outside, then whitebase+surfacer at 3:1 ratio spray all over again the body, now it looks very opaque :)

Its ready for paint! :D

wahlaweiiii, making 2 kits at 1 time  :o . Where do you find the time? hehe. Looking good.........
Doing the WRC and at the same time doing my delorean proves harder then I thought. Gotta salute you bro. Suspek habissssssssss

Updates:
Body painted with 4 Mist & 1 Wetcoat of RED, GUN METAL & 2 layer of gloss coat and wetsand with 2000

maybe because my spray booth was full with dust from paints, lots of dust sticks to the paint surface, which require me to wetsand each coat of paint
now the masking nightmare

aha abg entau. Just as I suspected, hehe. You're doing the 2 kit in 1 day as usual hehe. Looking very nice bro. I always envy the smoothness of your paint job. Very professional. Open up a spray shoplah, I send my kancil to you :P
Entau - July 20, 2009 03:56 AM (GMT)
no need to envy sky, you will achieve it after you completed another 2-3 kits, its just practice :P
