Title: 2pdr Antil Tank Gun
Description: Malaya WW2

I have started on the 2pdr kit recently released by Vulcan model, a relatively new model.
There are some serious highs and lows of the model and given the breeze I had completing the Oscar here , this was a minor irritation.
There are aspects in the design of the model and part breakdown which will really challenge the modeller.

I am compiling the notes onto the instruction sheets as I did not take the photos to compliment the comments. Might be helpful to those who have yet to start on this kit.

Cheers

The kit details are quite good given the part breakdown. The pictures however highlights the areas where details are missing on the plastic which differs from the drawings. As the kit is small, its rather difficult to replicate. A few more sore points is either missing or short casting on part A11. Horrors!
Vulcan models need to also improve on their diagrams and kit joining indication points in the parts as you will need a lot of resource photos to place some of the parts accurately. That said, most parts fit very well with a bit of pressure. There is some cleanup neccessary especially on the lengthy parts where seam lines are aplenty.
One final point is the quality of the plastic. Its brittle sand can break way too easily so some care when you are dryfitting.

On the plus point, this is one kit which was worth waiting after so many years. The only other 2pdr available is the 1:32 scale kit from Soveriegn2000 which cost close to RM300!

I took a good evenings to put this kit together and will await my Universal carrier conversion kit to complete a planned diorama on the WW2 British retreat before I start the painting works.

Cheers!

Tauke Loo, you are brave man....

when this kit first released, many people still have doubt about the performance of this new manufacturer.. and thanks 2 u that we get a LIVE performance on the stage at last..

and wow, there are many imperfection... i can understand ur feelings dealing with those kind of instruction... but with ur skills, this is just nut (kacang) for u to get it right and proven by the final photo.

From the photo, the plastic look soft and not that solid (color??) i can see light passed through the shield..

so any decal for malaya campaign??

keep it up tauke

Sil,
no decals at all in the kit as I am sure the real 2prd have no markings at all.
As for the plastic, on the contrary, its very brittle. Even more brittle than Trumpeter's. They feel like Kitech plastic...... :o
