Title: Valkyrie Vf-25s Ozma, Super Parts, Macross
Description: ~by Arzwarth

Arzwarth - July 8, 2009 11:50 AM (GMT)
This the most expensive kit I ever have. VF-25S Ozma + Super Parts + Stand = around RM350

This model was build in January 09 and finish at April 09 I think, when the super parts come out.

This a kit got so many small assemble parts so I decided not to custom color it.
The cockpit, the pilot office and the pilot is fully paint.
Touch up colors here and there using air brush and hand paint. Mr. color and Tamiya enamel color.

Panel line, I use enamel wash and .Too 0.02 black pen.

Decal is so pain in arse, because so many and complicated. Some water decal are ruins by my mistake but I replaced with sticker decal. This kit come with 2 type identical decal, water and sticker.

Last, I mix Gaia flat clear coat and Gaia gloss clear coat to make semi-gloss top coat for this model.

*** Before someone ask for the pictures of the other 2 mode (Fighter and Battroid mode) This is my favorite mode, The Gerwalk and I don't want to change to other mode because I don't want to chip the decal :P

Was talking to the guys about this kit last week and its good to see it build at last by someone in Malaysia.
Well done. How's the kit? Easy build? Any problems?

Because of it made by bandai, the quality it very good. It was very fun to make and because many small parts and to paint them is difficult for me, that why I decide not to color it :P (I like the kit color anyway.)

It got so many decal, since this is the first time putting decal after a long time, using mr. mark soft and mr. mark setter for first time it is very challenging to me.

I break in half one of the front cover landing bay. I glue it together again cover the crack with xtra super parts decal. Hehehe problem solve.

Overall .. this is most satisfying model I ever have, maybe because I like the anime too.

good decision on posing it as the Gerwalk mode..
for me that is the coolest pose for this mecha..

have you ever try changing it to other mode as well? if yes.. how's the transition process? smooth?

great job

why not use the victory girl decal ?

masterqq - July 9, 2009 01:13 AM (GMT)
wow...you mean these are kit color without paint.. look good to me .. may be I will build mine without paint, just panel line and matt coat...

BTW, I got the Alto one and will build it as Gerwalk mode too.... :D

Nice kit u got there ^_^ Love the blue you have on the kit, definitely my cup of tea :P

I think the thruster could have been better. Mebbe u can try make it thinner next time.

As for the kit,

Bandai makes it with the flexibility of transforming in all 3 modes, but this actually sacrifice the appearance of each.

A little flimsy n with tons of small parts.

This is no doubt a good build. clean finishing. Just a few suggestions to make this an eye catcher...

1. Fill up the seams in the arm
2. some wash to the missiles compartment
3. some post shading, high light and filtering.

my 2cents.

I'm still waiting for mine. I waiting for the Lucas Type. :D

KIRIN - July 9, 2009 11:04 AM (GMT)
Luca? the one with a big satelite plate, right?

But i plan to build with the armor pack on the blue plane, Michael. Should looks cool when he is doing sniping post with armor back pack.

Anyway, nice one Arzwarth. Got the VF-25S long time ago, snap fitted but yet paint. Am sure the paint are easily chipped off when you doing the transformation. The part is small and the kits are quiet complex, example, when tansform to Battroid, the nose cone have to move down, and the whole front part hide become the chest part. :D

Arzwarth - July 9, 2009 11:06 AM (GMT)
I think I didn't note if clearly. When I said I didn't custom color it I not explain clearly that this unpainted kit, only certain area was sprayed to copy the design they give.

To fill the seam line on the hand I will look at it .. maybe can sand/buff it clean after glue it together. (still not glued :P)

[Victory Girl decal] I like the skull cow head decal on ozma cuzstom .. Maybe will use Victory Girl decal if I buy Alto Custom. btw, Victory girl decal not suit with super part cuz they super part will cover it.

Yes now I notice the missile compartment is too clean. thanks.

"I think the thruster could have been better. Mebbe u can try make it thinner next time."
Sorry, how to make it thinner?

Thank you for all the comments and compliments m(_ _)m

Very nice build. I like macross kits. I'm confuse now, Arzwarth, did you painted the kit?

Well, if you didn't and it still look as good, I will surely get one for myself soon...
Why didn't hasegawa come out with just the fighter model?

xamel1975 - July 10, 2009 04:28 AM (GMT)
I've been putting off getting the Macross Frontier kit for sometime but after seeing your build, I WANT ONE  !

Good job on the build, Arzwarth!

Yep, Gerwalk is the coolest mode of this mecha. I like my Gerwalk's leg spread a little... but I guess the kit has a limitation in that department.

Revliss - July 10, 2009 04:52 AM (GMT)
ok just asking which victory girl decal will you like to apply ??? ( it better not be the GReen thing ! )

masterqq - July 10, 2009 07:36 AM (GMT)

I think maybe Bandai take all the contract for making all the Macross Frontier Models.

Revliss - July 10, 2009 04:22 PM (GMT)
