Title: In Progress: Falke

xamel1975 - July 7, 2009 01:21 AM (GMT)
The Falke is one of Kow (pronounced as 'Koh') Yokoyama's most recognizable vehicle in Maschinen Krieger (Ma. K) world. It is actually started as a kitbash project by Kow Yokoyama for his Ma.K series. Some of the noticable parts used for this kit:

P-38 Lightning nacelles
F-14 front landing gear
Toyota Sports 800 bottom half (front to interior)

Enough babbling about the kit ;) . Here's some progress shot

Interesting trivia.

To bad most of the cockpit details will be hidden from view.

Which of the three schemes will this one be in?

The front of the Falke is actually from a car kit! Notice the car wheel well?

I use this book as reference. It contains:
- history and background of the subject.
- Some painting techiniques.
- Scratchbuilding the dolly.
- Additional decal for other version of the Falke.
- Takako Lopez models the Falke crew girl suit ^_^ .

Oookay. Good choice on the scheme. Very fearsome looking.

Fuyoh, this is interesting.

Looks like a flying cow if you do the black/white scheme :P From the top view you can really see the front nacelle are from P38!!

Harman, mana pegi Bismarck punya wreck tu? On hold ke?

sky_tokyodrifter - July 7, 2009 01:39 AM (GMT)
the black with tengkorak scheme looks more brutal, I vote for that too ;)

Very interesting build indeed bro. Will follow up on this ;)

Bismarck still in progress but very slow. 'Wrecking' a model is much more difficult than building one  !

The "Holy Cow" Falke is actually a 'parody' version. Poking fun at Westerners who pronounced Kow Yokoyama's first name as 'Cow' not 'Koh' :D.

Even the decal for that version is funny too... a Frisian cow with wings. .

Kinokuniya @ KLCC (4th Floor). I'll check the ISBN no and let you know. I've been there last week but don't see the Falke book. Maybe you can give them a call first. One gripe about the book is that I'm expecting a lot more of Falkes rather than showing Kow's 1/43 car collection, etc.

is there a clear /better image /pic of this COW decal ???

wah, both scheme are nice. So Harman, will this go to the year end scifi GB?

I paint the figure and interior for practicing purpose for my 2nd Falke build. This build will be a 'Falke in Action' diorama. I can easily escape the need for painting the interior and pilot by glueing the hatch shut but I decided to work on them instead.

Sorry for the dark photos. Need to work on my lighting in future!

Did some heavy wash on the interior using thick raw sienna oils. Some silver drybrush were applied too.

You really should put some lights in there!
The figure looks really good with the wash. Matt down?

Loo,

I didn't wash the figure. Not yet anyway. What I did was , I gave the figure a flat black coat and leave it to dry. Then I applied the base color using drybrush technique.

There are some decal work to be done on the figure. After that it will be matt down and some light wash.

Loo CK - July 21, 2009 05:40 AM (GMT)
Ahh, drybrushing. Nice gradual effect

Shah,

Actually the 'Devo' suit is reduced by 30% with lighter green (have to lookup the code!). Not much different in overall look. Maybe to the trained eye, one can see the difference.

Guess I'm color blind  !

Yup, the shoes are green. I'd rather have it in black.
