Title: F-14d "bounty Hunters" Operation Enduring Freedom

dg0816 - July 6, 2009 04:24 AM (GMT)
These pics were taken under studio conditions...this Hasegawa 1/48 F-14D belongs to friend. He hired a professional modeller, and it cost him about RM900 excluding model kit, paints, cockpit detailing set.

This model wears the VF-2 "Bounty Hunters" squadron logo, which participated in Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom...they operated from USS Constellation.

Since 2006, this squadron started using F-18F and is now based onboard USS Abraham Lincoln.

Precisely, that's the guy hired...he's Mr. Bill Su.

This model was built in '07 for about RM900 as quoted by bill when he just started his business...however, as he got more customers, his quote became really outrageous 2x or 3x from quotes when we first knew him.

Fabulous build! Professional modeller standard without doubt.

Proves the point that money will solve all problems :D

I disagree on this part.

For 900 bucks, the modeler should have corrected the droopy wings. There are also a lot of accuracy errors in the build.

Okayyy

I think for me, its nice to give simple and encouraging comments to fellow Malaysian modellers. I prefer to support people than shoot them down. As long as the owner is happy with it, whether he built it or not.

While I noticed the wings, I must confess im not an expert on these various types of anonymous grey aircraft - they all look the same to me, so my comments would be amateur indeed.

I guess, better leave it to the professionals like yourself to comment on other professionals work and charges

Cheerio!

is ok what...
but i still agree with one of the saying that heard before...

When a craftmanship is so great that the product will be priceles... and when there's a price for craftmanship, the quality will not be at its' peak...

Well, for this kind of superb finishing build, i'll just ignore the accuracy.
Bill is one of my favorite modeller, this guy build almost all kind of model, all in professional finishing!
