Hi guys. This is my first ever ship built using my only ship kit for time being..
Anyway here is a short story about the kit.. I bought it at MH when they are still in Mid Valley 5 years ago.. That time it took me about 20 mins to decide which ship to buy; the one that come with missile or this one with torpedo tubes :P..

Anyway here is the pic of the kit parts

By the way I already started the kit last Tuesday at 2am and some of the small part already been assembled.. Will update it once all the small parts are done.

Owh a question for the expert.. Should I paint the small parts first, then glue it to the ship or paint all in one shot?


NOTES: I just found out that Kai Feng is Type 051 Luda II Class Guided Missile Destroyer. Here is a bit of history of the ship and another one

Congratulation for your first ship build.... About your questions on painting the small parts first or paint them later in whole... I'm no expert ship builder but I presume it's the same as building any type of model, tanks, planes, figures, ... you'll need to study and dry fit to conclude which method is the best to conduct painting.

In my experience building the 1:700 Bismarck, which the complex bridge really need to paint them separately before assembled to the main deck.

Thanks for the input CPTan.. I think I better glue only the superstructure n paint the small part separately..

Another tiny update.. Today managed to clean up some small parts and assemble it. So next step is dry fitting the keel and the deck.. It shows there is a gap between the front and back part of the ship.. Soo need some time to dilute my putty so that it easier to apply it..





Another 5 days to go.. Need to speed up my build.. Again there is another 3 major problems with this ship since I start planning to built it.. First, should I cut the bridge and stick some clear part since it is originally mold in plastic.. Secondly, should I scratchbuild a rail coz this kit did not provide it.. Lastly, should I get a primer spray coz I never prime my kit before this :lol:..

Orite! Lagi sekor masuk geng kapal.....altho this Chinese Trumpeter kit will test your patience ^_^ , I think already started haha.. here is some of my humble opinion:

In 350th scale, even if u put transparencies, will hardly be visible....u can drill out the windows la, enough...Up to you, but I think not worth effort lar

As for railing, wud of cos look better...suggest you should get some PE for it, dont waste ur time to scratchbuild. You will go mad haha

If this ship is overall grey, my way would be to assemble as much as possible in subsection, ie bridge, funnel, rear cabin etc...then paint, then glue to deck. If you paint part by part, its never ending touch up....generally, best way to build ship is in subsection in my opinion

Wei Razman, Patrol boat yang ko nak beli dulu tu ada lagi kat aku....ambik buat laaa hahaha. Aku bagi free la, you just pay postage. Tapi syaratnya, aku nak tengok WIP immediately. Amacam?

Haaa razman, tu dh Landyshah offer bagi free, amik laa weh.. Meh kita buat kapal sama2.. Takkan laa asyik nk melekat dgn bini je weh.. hahahaha :P


Another tiny update before friday prayer.. Test dry fit on some of the parts. It fit nicely.. Less another headache problem.. Here's the pic
