Started off with the air intake, I find it too plain ler, so added the turbine using koto parts, started of by drilling a hole.






Although it's not accurate (that's not that important I guess), it looks much better now right ^_^

Then the exhaust part
Original part also empty <_<
So, make a hole there..

And added koto parts


First layer of primer after re-scribe all the raised panel lines




I've already painted inside the intake with white, mask and still need to cover seam later..

Well everything at the moment still looked okay, until last week when I hand itchy go and re-scribe the canopy, ended up endless hours polishing it back and made some fine cracks, after some pressure and another one, fell on the floor :cry:

Simple kit if you want to wind down a bit... but if you want to further enhance it, a 'cartooned' version of the targeting pod, missiles would be a great addition.

Klay, very nice.

Got same F-16 with base of a house on the hill and a Witch landing on an airstrip.
I'll post pix of it. Decals have gone yellow 'cos didn't seal it with future last time.

Ok guys.. some updates on the Phantom :P






Added some details for the missiles.. again from Kotobukiya m.s.g.
(left is for viper, right is for phantom)

With rushing projects around and half-killed mood, I can't be asking too much..
Just clean off the Viper's canopy, do a final round of polishing and 2 dips in future thinned with black in from ball pen ink (it's too transparent)

Sorry.. when I remembered to take picture it's already masked :P

Fitting-wise quite ok, there's not much gap for the canopy (it's almost flat at the base)




Phantom-wise, not so good ;)


There's gap on the rear and both sides aft..
I've to seal it with un-diluted white glue and wipe of the residue once dried..
Looks good to me though.. (at this point if I can finish is very good already.. still sad over the viper's canopy)



Since the Phantom is built by assembling 2 half, I've to re-scribed lost panel lines at the nose area, initially I tried re-scibe with circle template but only manage to do so on the top, coz there's a gun muzzle at the chin.. template can't sit on properly.. no choice, do free-hand and after numerous sanding.. it's done..

Next is paint the camo, I think I'll go with the SEA camo..

Since I've never free-hand airbrush any camo, why not give it a try this time ;)
Painted the tan area with white (actually I should have painted it whole white, but why not take the white area as a practice 1st ^_^ , so after marked the demarcation line with pencil, I airbrushed the tan area with Mr. Basewhite



Then with tan (Mr. Color 44#)



Anyway, I've got a question, since I know that the Tan for SEA camo is preferably Mr. Color 310# (which out of stock from LHS), I'm mixing Mr. Color 44# (also Tan) with slight brown and clear orange to get a bit more brownish.
I think I still couldn't get the "tan" right after comparing with book reference ;)
Can anyone tell me if I should make more "red", "green", "yellow", darker or lighter?? :unsure:

Kuman.. initially i "sula-ed" the viper with satay stick but not tight and always drop.. the ABS glue cap just ngam ngam fit it... :P
