HI all , I am using Tamiya masking tape to mask my aircraft . When i peel off the masking tape, it leaves a glue residue on the finish. is there anything i can do to avoid this . thanks .

Erm.. does the glue residue come from the edge of the tape or the middle of the tape?
If from the edge, most probably your masking tape is not well kept, so the glue near the edge is deteriorating and left upon the paint surface when you lifted the tape.
Can lay that stretch on a clean glass and trim off the worn-edge of the tape.

If from the middle, maybe your tape is having quality problem.. hahaha..
Sorry, it has not happen to me before so I can only say, don't use it if that's the case.

You can try to use blue tac to remove the residue, don't rub away the residue but instead use "stick-and-pull". It probably helps ^_^

Something else to consider.

It could be that your paint is not completely cured and still tacky. If you mask in this condition, the tape will leave its imprint when removed. Kind of like finger smudges on semi cured paints. To prevent, just wait until the paint is fully cured before masking.
