It has not been in production for a long time now.
As you have written, the kit was originally by Monogram, but Hasegawa has reboxed it for Japan market.

I got 2 unit of the Monogram 1/48 F-5F kit.It got a raised panel lines & from 1980s. But what to do,it's the only game in town for 1/48 F-5F kit.

In 1/72, there is Testor/Italeri kit for this jet. Same mould & also OOP. Will post the sprue pictures if you are interested.
