Looks good...

Since U've said it's painted as per box art... I can't help notice and curious the choice of colour (black??) used under the flying white coat?? Looks abit "ODD" in colour combination or reality check??

Thanx to you, Peter O'Toole has the chance of relive his old glorious days as Lawrence the Arabia (the movie's title, right??)...

White always a toughie for most figgie painters but you have brought out the folds beautifully. Eh...just out of curiosity is the dagger's scabbard attached with gold straps?

Thanks CP and CK

I knew the question about the underside of the cape will pop up. That's why I mentioned painted as per the box art. If you look at Andrea's stock photo the underside is painted something like field grey. I did the same but the lighting put this area in the shadows and it looks black. I just saw parts of the movie rerun on cable and the cape is actually a very light, almost see through material and it should be painted white or off white as the rest of the outfit but knowing clients' tatses, they'd rather trust the box art so I mustn't disappoint.

One guy questioned why my Wehrmacht uniforms has the tunic in field grey while the trousers in another shade like mouse grey. That started my having to dig up my reference pics of the real thing, take pics ( no scanner ) and attached via e-mail to show 'proof'. Sometimes it's better to please than do extra work ;) With German uniforms and equipment I don't compromise though and clients will have to take 'lessons' ( from me ). Irresponsible box art painters sometimes do an injustice to historical accuracy and modelers become none the wiser if they accept what they see in the paint guide as the Gospel truth.

I can't recall seeing any straps for the dagger's scabbard ( in the movie ) and I still don't know how it's attached to the waist. Again, safest to paint according to the box art.

Stand easy
Patrick
