A merkava 3 and a C1 ariete upamoured....

this is basic running gear that I assemble recently

@ Entau
Ya I did not press that button, so silly of me

I've decided to replace the kit's original plastic suspension unit with a home made coiled copper wire....

For the shock absober maybe I will replace it with a telescopic tubing section mainly with brass tubing

For the rubber flaps, I will replace it with a piece thick polyethylene plastic bag...

This plastic bag sheet were used to keep plastic resin in palletised... so since Im working in an injection moulding factory, I got plenty of it....

The similliar meterial you guys can get is from those beg beras (rice bags)
It's very realistic to replicate rubber flaps

Is that an Academy kit? Ingenious way of doing the flaps but would paint stick on the waxy material?

I had 1 Merkava 3 in the halfway build, it's a repaint job actually.
If you can, replace the rubber tire for the road wheels, it will react with the plastic and melt someday.
You may also add anti-skid pattern on the tank body and turret.
And don't forget to replace the chains at the rear of the turret. ;)

I remember i saw a merkava 3 resin kits with PE and metal chain balls in MH, must be so detail, but the price.... <_<

So, are u going to upgrade your kits with PE set?

Can't wait for your update.

Wiz,
good advise from ahhow. If you are not replacing them, you have to make sure that both the different type od plastics do not have direct contact with each other. Spraying a primer coat before fixing will help.

Keep us updated...
