Title: One more builds for 2006
Description: Nissan Stagea RS Four

druid_99 - April 10, 2006 02:16 AM (GMT)
Hi,

This is another of my builds and hopefully this will also be completed by the year 2006. This is a Fujimi 1/24 Nissan Stagea RS Four. This kit is a curb-side kit and it is a pretty straight forward build... or so it seems...

First off, the modifications...
I have lowered this Stagea to the limit that it will not survive the roads of Malaysia unless it is on a trailer... I have lowered it by 4mm in the front and 3 mm on the rear suspension.

To match with the modification, I put on some aftermarket rims ( I can't recall the name of the rims but it's from Aoshima). Then, as if that is not enough, I cut off the front grills (top and bottom) to make way for a new set of grills or wire mesh (which will be chosen later) and to make sure the intercooler that will be mounted is easily noticed. I have also made an all around body-kit with styrene and epoxy to match the look.

This model is an AT model which with the help of some styrene sheets and epoxy, I have convert it to an MT which is not visible as I forget to take pictures of it.

I'm thinking of scratchbuilding two nitrous oxide tank to be mounted at the back of this wagon but if I'm too lazy to build it, then I think the interior will be pretty standard with only some painting schemes. Now... off with the pictures...

The front view of the Nissan. Notice the suicidal ride height, the rebuild front skirt, drilled off top and bottom grills.

Side view. Again, the ride height that has been lowered and the all-around skirtings (this is just a simple skirting).

Rear view. The rear skirting and spoiler. The spoiler is included in with the model but it is an optional part.

I'm still not sure about the colour though. I was thinking of purple (notice the purple undercarriage?) Then I change it to dark blue with some metallic flakes but I'm still undecided on it.

Thanks for viewing.

I did paint the rims. The centre of the rims is painted Model Master's Titanium silver and coated with a layer of Model Master's sealant. The reason is because I want the chrome lips on the rims to stand out.

I'm not sure I will go for pearl white. I'm not very fond of white as it tends to have a bit yellowish tint in time. I was thinking of blue with airbrushed blue flame from the front right to the end of the body and maybe some red stripes just to contrast the blue...

Still unsure of the painting though...

Hahhaa... after three years in cold-storage, finally I am raising this thread again just because I continue building this car.

First of all, I give this car a bath of DOT3 to remove the previous paintjob. The paintjob is too thick that the DOT3 cant't remove all the paints. I have to use sandpaper to assist with the paint removal. Looking at the pictures below will show you multiple paints that has been applied onto the car. It suprises me that there is actually about 5 different paintjobs on it...

Ok, since the paint has been removed (partially), then off to the next step. I have an extra bumper for the R34 Skyline so I was thinking "what the heck...." and off I go cutting the front bumper of the Stagea and removing it.

Since the front bumper of the Skyline is a bit narrow than the Stagea, I have to cut the bumper in half and widen it a bit.

I have also added some plastic sheet on the fender to widen it... :)

When that is done, I widen the body using Bondite. I still need to clean up the bodykit and scribe the bumper and door lines before I can paint it.

This is all that is done last night. Hopefully this can be done for the Auto and Bike GB...

Yup... and I can't even remember the paint that I put on it until I strip it down with DOT3.

I can see that I've painted this car purple, silver, blue, yellow, dark blue and black (wow! six colours actually... ). The red paint is actually the design on the body that I airbrushed on top of the first blue paint.

I forgot to mention that I've removed the roof rack on the car.

By the way, can the moderator please move this thread to the Auto and Bike GB? Thank you.

More car build ups will be on the way before I raise the Junkers thread...
