lets begin..

I'll start with a Academy kit, Aries Cockpit set and Quickboast flanker nose correction. (sorry for poor english, just simply write without checking)

Aries flanker cockpit set really value for money, the quality of casting is super..painted in russian blue gray, with own my mixing color fomular (H74 50%+ intermidate blue 40% + haze blue 10%) took me some time to get it right (with reference of real flanker cockpit photo)

Alright..painting the cockpit detail...

building the padel of the cockpit..its so dam small cost my eyes to pop out

adding others detailsuch as Hots, Pins..handle..

user posted image

placing the cockpit tub into the plane its a nightmare..fitting problem, some surgery needed to perform to get it right..

user posted image

user posted image

here the tricky part, according to the real thing, the lower control panel and the upper panel should be seamless, but fiting the top panel to lower panel present a gap..so plastic card added to recreat the real thing.

user posted image

now my attention turn to the plan fuselarge...academy molding i had to say... :( having some shape issue here. just look at the wheel bay, its should'nt have a block of " wall " between the wheel and the wheel bay..arrgggg

user posted image

so..more work needed to correct the right shape...just cut it

user posted image

again..fit issue, couse by poor design..the molded wire bottom of the lower fuselarge blocking the joint..

user posted image

cut..cut ..cut

tats better..

thats all folks for this moment...will update more as i progress.. B)

Think you should relook again your instrument panel..the top and bottom half still look too split apart compared to the real thing?

U need to cut along the Academy front coaming in order to "lowered" the Aires from below... U cannot slip that plastic strip coz I think the front windshield will not fit...

tomcat,

landyshah's posted photo is a very good reference.

From the photo, it's clear that your cockpit or instrument panel is sitting way too low.

You can see in the photo that some of the instrument gauges are at the same level as the cockpit sill.

Good observation jason and meh. Chan the small tv screen is almost the same level as the instrument dial

I really really hate this part, the kit intake part did'nt fit well into the kit, a tone of putty and sanding had to be done here..take me whole !@##$$% nite to do this...

user posted image

here come another nightmare....the resin nose did'nt not fit well into the kit. the nose cone is bigger then the joint..so fuselarge need to be trim to fit..

user posted image

a layer of plactic cards are install inside the joint between the upper fuselarge and lower fuselarge to made the trim to fit the nose cone...haiz...there will be tone of putty and sanding here..so that 'smy wednesday night work..

 progress its slow, but still moving bit by bit...

this the part where i add putty and plastic strips to fill the gap

user posted image

beaware the tail " hook" structure shape its a bit out.you have to sand it to perfaction...

user posted image

to increase realism, the plastic parts replace by a metal parts made from paper clip.

user posted image

result look good

user posted image

too add more realism..the plastic landing gear head light has been replace by home made clear parts. i just discover a new technique to made clear parts (especially semi-bolic shape clear parts..) maybe next time i could share from this forum.

user posted image

wow..ok, this look much much better then the kit can offer...

see your folks...if i'm not dead for this week,i will continue update
