It's my first 4 wheeler!
Having tons of fun so far.
Okay, it may be blasphemy to some of you but I didn't bother priming the underchassis.....

I used a combo of Tamiya acrylics + Mr. Hobby Lacquer paints.
Them gaps are hard to get to!

I smetimes wondered why bother painting 3 different shades of black but it sure pays off when it all comes together....

progress looks good ^_^

did hand paint or using masking for the engine parts?

Helvetican - May 10, 2009 03:49 AM (GMT)
Thanks, been trying to find time to go back to this but something called work gets in the way ;)

Entau - most of the engine parts were handpainted, bigger ones airbrushed.

Here we go - first piece in!

A bit sayang cannot see suspension, but hey, the discbrakes are cool!

Front axle done.

Rear axle done. A bit tricky gluing this part. And yes, I hate that dirt speck too.

+ drive shaft and other bits and pieces. Felt pretty good seeing it come together.

bro, looking good man. Thank god we have different cars hehe. Anyway would like to ask you. I am also doing the under chassis parts now and I noticed that they have the see through plates that are going to cover the front axle and rear axle parts. Do you have the same parts man? If we have the same parts, then hmmm I wonder.... from the manual it says to paint the front plates chrome silver and the rear plates black. If I were to do this then all the painted parts underneath could not be seen right? hmmm... any thoughts?

Helvetican - May 10, 2009 10:15 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I thought about it too. I figure I won't paint it so still can see stuff underneathla. if you want fast build then skip the tiny bits. but y'know, the fun is where you find it.

Wow Helvetican... everything is nicelt and neatly done...keep up the good work ^_^

druid_99 - May 11, 2009 02:16 AM (GMT)
Guys, for the clear guards underneath the chasis, I usually will paint it according to the instruction but you can also paint just half of it and leave the other half clear to show the details.

Agree with druid_99..Helvetican and sky_tokyodrifter..

Is all depends how you wanted to present your 'car' is the final stage...displaying the underhood via transparent parts looks really cool especially in showcase view. Just to share....I didn't 'color' the parts when i building my Group N : Proton PERT......
