ur styrene is tearing apart..
sure u use extra thin cement
use super glue or epoxy glue..
0.3mm bend like dat after kena thin cement sure crack..

Entau - May 6, 2009 03:22 AM (GMT)
luckily that part not very visible :P

edit: i thought u said cement, but ok, try super glue text time

if i tampal those crack area with dissolve putty ok onot?

klay - May 6, 2009 06:05 AM (GMT)
redo better.. easier to redo than to tampal IMO..

Entau - May 12, 2009 03:25 AM (GMT)
dry fit of the roll cage, since im going to add some wiring, seat belts & some detailing, this is to see where the wiring goes, where fits and where not, since this rollcage is quite complicated, so proper planning of glueing is important, and i spot 2 holes at behind the seat that serve no purpose <_< , i guess it is because the chassis is from 2001 version, which suppose got something there :P

BV: no lah, where got fast, i started some parts last 2 months ago, still got lots more, but body not much left, i just need to finish all those mica blue part 1st and AB together so the color takda lari

PcEvo - May 13, 2009 08:26 AM (GMT)

Ya la Vince... building model must be slow ma then only got the feel just like...oppss solli... enjoy the building process i mean

Entau - May 18, 2009 03:12 AM (GMT)
some progress ^_^

since i only had 1 bottle of finisher ricebox's subaru wrc blue, i worried i might run out halfway,
so i mix a custom metalic blue with mr color metallic blue + gaia ultra blue + flurescent pink as base coat, and apply the wrc blue on top of it

here's the comparison:
user posted image
though not clearly shown in pics, the wrc blue is much brighter and nicer

drill some holes at the roll cage
user posted image

since i already remove the wiper nozzles earlier, i got no choice but to scratch it
user posted image

user posted image
left is shaped, right is unshape plastic plate 0.25mm cement on stretch sprue

drill some holes again at the bumper
user posted image

use some 0.4mm dia rivet with 0.75 diameter head suggested by PcEvo :P
user posted image

here is how it looks

thats all for today, comments welcome :)

Aiseh, I wanted to do the windshield washer like that... It seems that you beat me to it... <_<

Looks good there Entau... :D

Entau - May 19, 2009 03:10 AM (GMT)
the 1st try was unsuccesful, looks super ugly, then the 2nd try was slighty better but break halfway, this is the 3rd time, hopefully the sprue remain sticking to the washer's nozzle :P

i really had difficulty during polishing, so made decision to shave the washer nozzle before i even scratch built it (pressure myself )

some AB parts
user posted image

scratchbuilt some component, from left i think is leg rest?, mic/communication controller, LCD screen
user posted image

some CF decal parts
user posted image

user posted image

those CF above is from KA models, though the scale size is not very small, but it looks ok, coz the silver is actually darker shade, compare below CF from crazy modeler which a bit fake when zoom in

user posted image

sky_tokyodrifter - June 2, 2009 04:26 AM (GMT)
hoho abg entau. You said never used CF decal before, but like prolah :P . Very good so many parts did already hoho. The scratchbuild parts, made from what? teach lah.... we all want to learn loh :P

I like the KA CF, better looking. I agree The crazy modeller CF does look fake hehe. At first I wanted to design the co-pilot foot rest like the CF that you did which is going sideways. But when I checked my reference for the 2001 car, they didn't have that design. It was flat CF huhu. The 2004 car looks better anyway huhu. Good job.

P/S: I think your impreza will potong mine la..... very fast so many parts kautim already huhu.

Entau - June 2, 2009 04:37 AM (GMT)
the cf i also learn abit from you :P
after took like 2 hours for the kevlar decal on the seat, i decided to buy a hair dryer

and it work much much better and faster :D

all the scratchbuilt stuff i made with plastic sheet, 1mm and 0.4mm i think, not hard

cut a line, snap the plastic card, cement, sand, drill holes if needed, alot of sanding to get the right shape

i only use thin cement for glueing those small parts

Entau - June 2, 2009 05:04 AM (GMT)
hahha...my girlfren said "Oh, ask u buy hair dryer for me 3 times also said no time, modeling need hair dryer quickly buy one"

interior still need another gloss coat before i can start do anything

Entau - June 6, 2009 04:03 PM (GMT)
after gloss coat, metallic blue had become deeper

user posted image

here is after 2000 wetsand, autosol, tamiya compound coarse and fine, only roof, the rest haven't polish yet :P

sky_tokyodrifter - June 8, 2009 03:45 AM (GMT)
wah very shiny leh broder entau. Bro after sand with 2000, then compound and everything, do you need to spray clear again? or just leave like that will be shiny? Because the video of the japanese making the impreza, he sanded his car and just rub compound like the kit was going to break  and then finish without spraying clear. Wanna learn how to make a good shining finishing
