Since this category like got no one interested to start anything, I also gatal to suggest something. Seems like shipbuilding is a scary/comlicated/leceh subject for many people...lets break the fear

Theme: My First Ship Model
Subject matter: Open, anything from Tongkang to U-Boat to Battleship to Ocean Liner
Scale: Open, no restriction

The idea is to encourage traditional non-ship modellers (those aircraft, AFV, figure and gundam kaki) to try and build one ship....it doesnt matter how good or bad, since its the first time or something they rarely build.

The main idea is for everyone to give it a shot, then group up to discuss and learn, not about whose build is best.

By making it a wide category like this, people can buy any ship kit they like, suitable for their confidence level and budget, and give it a go. Even a RM 14.90 kit can work or anything collecting dust in the stash....

Opinions and feedback are welcome :D

For the Merdeka 09, i am gonna submit the Tamiya re-issue of the Prince of Wales. I also bought from Lionroar's generic British WW2 battleship ack-ack/pom-poms PE seat. I thought of added those PE and make the guns look better...but..but ..when opened, they are not appropriate pulak.Aiyoh...

But i do have PE railings. So will fit those

You build the Titanic as it sinks. Refer to the Titanic movie and do the one where the rear end sticks up.

Add Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslett figure (in scale... 1/350? 1/200?). To push it further, for humor, add one figure with the head glued to the propeller!

As a friend mentioned, it was the peak of the movie for him to see the guy falls down and knocked his head on the propeller.

Would this be limited to first time ship builders only as the title suggests?

ye la..i wonder too since so far i already build 2 ship (or at least it float and submerse) and i never going to finish 1/350 USS Enterprise (USN bukan Star Trek taw :rolleyes: )

As you pointed out, I guess if we make it "my first ship" it will be sorta limiting it, as everyone may have tried or 1/2 tried a ship before.....

How about my newest ship build? lol, i mean everyone builds one new or finishes one old one for this GB? This makes it wider...at least we can get some people trying out a ship, or finishing one....

As the title said "first ship".... Mine actually was a scratchbuilt "rakit" with ice-cream sticks tied together with rubber-band.... I was about 10 then...

My "first" ship since I've re-start miniature model hobby is the "Zhong San" Gunboat that I've shown you previously...

Similar case as bang Zaidi.... I also have half built lost interest 1/700 USS Arizona and the pending Ocen Resesrch ship Calypso on my bench.... giving way for the Merdeka "Tugu" project.

So as the guys said, the deadline date and the meaning of "First ship" really makes some different here.
