Description: Trumpeter 1/35 Chinese 50 Tons TT

hashaney - April 16, 2009 06:30 AM (GMT)
Gangs, just to deviate from my "heavy" AC building... Here is my Chinese 50 Tons Tank Transporter from Trumpeter...

Just completed the Chassis sub assembly, painted with Anchor Spray Can Flat Black...
The engine assembly is AB with Gunze Orange, Silver is hand-painted with Humbrol Silver, Fan Belt and etc is also hand-painted with Vallejo Flat Black.

Hmm... need some touch-up with that fan-belt... I hate this Digicam!!! (Actually its gud to show your flaw... :D )

Ah this is one of your favoourite topic kan...these transporter and engineer vehicle.

Looking good...but this Trumpeter kit...any fit and moulding problem? Looking at the pic, I think sure ada

hashaney - April 16, 2009 06:59 AM (GMT)
Yup, my favorite subject indeed... My second after the Faun German TT (Held and displayed at HHQ). Bought for only RM99 from MH many moons ago...

Fitting is good, need some minor flash cleaning and sanded to shape...

landyshah - April 16, 2009 07:02 AM (GMT)
Orite bagus la tu.....sajer curious, cos of my experience with some trumpeter dulu....

Look forward to seeing this ready :D

druid_99 - April 16, 2009 07:48 AM (GMT)
Major, will the engine be visible when it is finished? If it is visible, you might want to consider replacing the belts with masking tape... much thinner and much more realistic... otherwise, better left it as it is...

Silantra - April 16, 2009 08:13 AM (GMT)
welcome back to armour world tuan.......

memang engine tu oren (jingga) ke?? huhuh

keep it up

azlandiver - April 16, 2009 09:14 AM (GMT)
boleh tahan......enjin kaler oren (jingga) tu nanti akan diwashkan jugak ke?
nak bagi realistik macam tuan punye stail kan :D

keep 'em coming tuan ;)

hashaney - April 16, 2009 03:47 PM (GMT)
Imran> The engine will be partially seen especially the side and bottom because no firewall but to do that fan belt as what you suggest I don't think I can do it... so small for my "big" and "Clumsy" finger.... :D

Mod Zaidi, Yup... must sometime go back to what you were before... That engine according to instruction is orange (Jingga). If you see the the commercial version, this Deutz Engine is Golden Yellow... Malas nak fikir banyak2, so I hantam orange... :D

ADiver> Yup that orange engine will receive light wash after coated with satin coat...

here's another update:

Tuan Major, enjin jingga dan gearbox/suspension koko kemerahan memang glossy ke?? nampak cam makanan ataupun mainan aje..... but i believed they will be flatten afterward... so far so good.. look promising with the transplant and elbow thinghy..
looking forward for more progress..........

keep them coming sir!

hashaney - April 17, 2009 01:03 AM (GMT)
Mod Zaidi, Yup!!! this is what the colour call out in trumpeter manual... I believe the Cocoa Brown like Caramel colour look more or less like Anti-Rust primer... Its glossy at the moment, sure will flatten after all assembly and before weathering/filters...

Just a small transplant and elbow thingy only... anybody can do... :D

landyshah - April 17, 2009 01:12 AM (GMT)
Ini macam enjin tractor....if u go see the engines of Caterpillar or Case machine...also orange, so its not unusual la

hashaney - April 17, 2009 01:25 AM (GMT)
Shah bro, spots on... This is a Deutz F12L413F series V-12 Turbo-Charge Diesel Engine use widely as Machinery and Marine. All are Orange and Yellow coloured. This one is no exception...

You are correct Ahhow, Tank Transporter or Tk Tpt in army abbreviation is quite expensive compare to ordinary kit maybe due to the plastic content/parts...

On top of this, this can considered "affordable" compare to Accurate-Armour version of more nicest of British and Ameriacan TT which is 90% resin and 9% Brass Photo Etch and 1% miscellaneous...

Here is the LINK for Accurate-Armour excellent Tk Tpt in resin...'

PS: Sigh!!!.... Can only dream when to get this "wish list" kit... :D

hashaney - April 19, 2009 02:01 AM (GMT)
Vince, this will solely an OOTB built, no resin, no PE except provided with this kit, no photo reference on real vehicle. Since I have no choice and for the love of this TT subject, the "show" must go on...

hashaney - April 20, 2009 08:38 AM (GMT)
MERAJUK? Where got!!! Correct what, nobody is interested to see and comment this "beautiful" Chinese 50 Tons Tank Transporter... except a few :(

Never mind, by hook or by crook, my mission is to finish this kit... :D

Vince, yup that thinner can burnish the sanding/scraping mark but it look like cast iron effect. It better than having those horrible ejector mark...

Major,

Don't worry about responses. Do what you like. Perhaps it's such a unique and seldom tackled project that many don't know what to ask or comment. I've got the same problem with some of my weired subjects.

I'm keeping watch on this thread. Some of you technics are useful. Also good to have something different.

This is going to look great painted up. Keep it up.

Richard.

WizardCraft - April 21, 2009 12:12 PM (GMT)

Wizardry> I believe this kit is no more coz I bought last year from MH in PJ for RM99. Special deal from Jeff :D
