Description: Italeri

Hi guys,

Since there is not much activity for the Soviet Group Build yet (I think most modelers are building this secretly lah... hahaha). So I will share with you guys another entry from me... the Mig-37 or Ferret for this build.

It is Russian but I assume this is a fictional aircraft... So, being fictional I can build it however I want it to look like.

It is basically a straight out of box build but with some modification and different paint scheme (the Russian markings will be present on the aircraft).

First of all, I remove all the ugly stubs which I think represents the lights on the aircraft. If I don't remove it, it looks like the aircraft is using a 60W bulb for the blinking lights.... When that is done, I add some panel lines on the wing and tail section since it lacks panel lines on this aircraft. The cockpit is then painted with the Russian interior green that I previously used for my Yak-32 and glued all the parts together.

More enhancement will be added later but to date, this is all that I have done.

This plane includes a bomb of some sort (I assume fictional as well) but I will clean it up more and make it look maybe more believable (not sure how I can do that  ).

Very interesting topic Imran...I guess this is Soviet equivalent of F117?
Bomb pun looks stealth!

Thanks guys.

Shah: Yup, it looks like a Soviet equivalent of the F117. I am thinking of a few interesting stealth paint scheme for this build...

Built the 1/48 Testor kit a loooong time ago. Came with the stealth bomb too. Fit wasn't great. Not knowing how to putty properly back then didn't help either.

Just a wild guess but the round thingies could be some sort of sensor dome not energy saving light bulbs.

IIRC, there was a full photo of this plane (in overall black?) floating on the net way back then. Don't know if it can still be found or not.

Look forward to seeing this one built.

cheers

So far I have not much problem with the 1/72nd model except for some minor gaps that will be puttied.

Sensor or not, the bulge does not look good on the aircraft so I removed it and was thinking of adding a much better looking sensor for the aircraft (hopefully).

I have seen a few of the built model kits of this plane in the net but I won't be building it totally black or grey... I'll be using my own stealth painting scheme... hehehe...

imran, kalau tak siap nanti ko just bring along an empty frame... and label the display case as Stealth.... it's in stealth mode so nobody will see it.........totally stealth...

If I recall correctly, this kit fit shud be ok one lah bro.. I've built it 10-12 years ago in grey color with the grey decal.. hahaha i know it is silly mistakes.. still using 20 sen brush dat time.. their bombs does look funny.. i paint it blue.. hahaha :P .. Maybe I shud strip the paint back and use the provided red decal .. Cant wait to see it finished..
