Title: Hobby Shops
Description: Location?
TigerShark - March 31, 2009 02:09 PM (GMT)
Hi ya'all,
I need to know the address and location of the hobby shops selling military [B]aircraft, warships and tanks in KL.
Last shop visited in Mid Valley about 2years ago!
Toy City don't carry any Tamiya stocks anymore and the one next to it seem to changed to comics shop already. One Tamiya shops at 1 Utama seems to not carry stocks for my requirement more on RC cars and City Square seems like a ghost complex the last time I been there about 2 weeks ago.
Is there any more hobby shops around dealing with above?
Kind of Appreciated if any of ya'all can help point out to me. Thanks!

Hello TigerShark
There is the Tamiya Underground (by Stargek) at 1-U, at the new wing. Check out for the phone number at www.tamiya.com.Look for the Malaysian distributor address.
The other hobby shop would be Hobby HQ at Fraser Business Park. Let me get u the address later. The link is somewhere here in the forum too.. MH is opening soon, so basically you have got 3 good hobby shops.

Toy City don't carry any Tamiya stocks anymore( Toy City doesn't carry much of anything these days except 'Toys')and the one next to it seem to changed to comics shop already. (That would the old place of Miniture Hobby, they moved out many moons ago and they are still moving) One Tamiya shops at 1 Utama seems to not carry stocks for my requirement more on RC cars ( That is one place a BIG NO! NO! Especially on my list!) and City Square seems like a ghost complex the last time I been there about 2 weeks ago. ( Ghost complex?? Yes sireee...Before it could become haunted, Hobby HQ moved early this year to F&N Business Park, check the forum for its location)Is there any more hobby shops around dealing with above?

I'm trying to look for some local stores too. Looks like i need to drop by Hobby HQ as they seem to have lots of model aircrafts which is what im interested in.
I recently bought some models from aviationmegastore.com and it got here in one piece, quite fast too. but i rather find local supplier as i want to give this scale modelling thing a second chance.
last time was more than 12 years ago :)
nice finding this forum, seems to have lots of active members

So other than Tamiya Underground, where else is a good place to find Tamiya or fujimi scale models for cars?
Most hobby shops nowadays carry Gundams, which is fine, but I'm kinda bored of fantasy robots.
klay - April 23, 2009 03:33 AM (GMT)
not much, apart from HHQ and MH (which they do bring in low amount depending on demand), ur are better getting them either thru online or nearest, from singapore or HK :P

Being the only (so far) Gunze frequent stockist, you might still have problem obtaining popular colours but rest assured that you can place an order with him if the colours you are looking for is unavailable.
