Title: Uss Constipation
Description: 100th scale Imai USS Constitusion

Hi fellow shipmates,
I'm hoping to revitalise the building of this constipated effort, the "USS Constitusion".
It's a 100 gun frigate built with a straight keel which made it very fast and specially chosen oak trees that were so strong that it was quoted by some English seamen that some of their cannon balls had bounced off its sides. And for that it has been nicknamed "Old Ironsides"
The following shows how far I have done. You can still see mud stains from the last flood I had.
Enjoy....

The wood planking was dry brushed...

Black watercolor wash essentuated the planking for the gun rows...

The rear Captains quarters windows were carefully picked out with an 00 brush...

Next are the guns and the masts...
Richard.

Wow...amazing even half built!!!
Beautiful woodwork...whats your method for the deck planking?
PoohBear - March 23, 2009 06:39 AM (GMT)
Ah. more sails on the horizon. :)
BTW, it's Constipa....oops.... Constitution with a 't' not 's'.
Jolly good show then.
Hard to port and man the poop decks!

  This is what happens when you're constipated...spelling gone heywire!!
Thanks Pooh for the correction.
Shah, the planking is basically painted with layers of browns, dark wash, light wash, lots of dry brushing and the accidental mud in the creases.
The wood grain detail on the Imai kit is superb and helped a lot in the painting process.
Forgot to show you the kit the last time you were here. It was under a pile of kit boxes.
Richard.

I'll just move this over to the Naval WIP section.

Jason,
This was what I was afraid of...now I will have to progress with building. Thought I could have left it in the other section to constipate.

Pooh, I hope the laxative works then I can display it in the living room. It's the only model HM allows to be displayed out of the work room or from upstairs.

Eng Hui, I got lucky with that. Was lazy to paint the frames so I painted the whole window white and then thinned gloss blue and pin washed it in then sealed with future. Effect turned out quite nice and different.
Looking forward to the launch even if its with a six pack. :D

Naladay H20
Celebrations may take a back seat for a while 'cos am in to finishing the Stirling and Kedai Buah buahan first. Besides the ratlines and rigging are a daunting aspect.
Maybe can launch the others instead :D
