Poopeh, I'm also quite new in this photography thingy but what I understand is "bokeh" the malay terms used by most photographers I know means the blurrs on the background but I think the "bokeh" in Becky's star picture applies to the whole picture... :D Becky, correct me if I'm wrong... :)

Becky - February 11, 2009 06:46 AM (GMT)
Druid is right, but Bokeh is Japs term, Jap do sound like Malay. Hehehe. :P

Bokeh in Japs mean blurry or out of focus, sometime done with wide aperture.

Found out more with wiki, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bokeh

Ooo... Japanese rupanya... I thought Malay... hahaha... Whatever it is, my camera can't bokeh a lot... Just using PnS jee (Point and Shoot).

Poopeh - February 11, 2009 07:47 AM (GMT)
Oh i see. That's what i meant when i said this in Becky's thread last time. So now i know its called bokeh

QUOTE
I usually avoid flash as it would affect the colour of the photo. You can try slower shutter + wider aperture setting to get more natural light.

Shooting from a distance + using zoom (telephoto)

or the opposite

Shooting makro + wide lens will make the object look bigger than it actually is.

Add in wider aperture will make the background fuzzy. Kinda nice also

I see, now i understand. Did try on the setting u mention, it look nice.

Poopeh - February 11, 2009 08:41 AM (GMT)
Generally that setting will look nice. A bit corny though because everybody seems to be using it, especially wedding photographers. In the days of film photography filter was the in thing to use.

Nice macro. Mind share what u using??

I tried on Raynox lense, its very hard to use, need to hold ur breath n focus manually, tiny movement will make the subject out-of-focus.. The first pic already sweat.

Here's the macro with raynox. Very shallow DOF.

Ahhow,

Nice shot bro!! I would like to learn more from you.

By the way guys, currently most of my B/W shots and few colours (tweaking) pic is inside this website called www.jfrtm2.com . In fact, this is my TV program which is currently running at RTM1 every week at 1100am until 12th April (live telecast on that day). It's about futsal reality program. Have a look at the website. The players shots were purposely done that way to promote "machoism" and making futsal as sexy :D

Thanks, those are old photos, i'm using d70s, shot with one/two +4 macro filter attached to 70~300mm lens.
Currently i use Raynox DCR250. I agree with u, its DOF so shallow until i have to use f22 or smaller aperture, more challenging.

hehe, I like photography as well, this pic were shot using a 7 year old camera, A Sony Cybershot 3.2 Megapixel without zoom.

Bought around RM1200 last time, but now worth nothing, still happy with the picture taken but the display LCD is way too small for today standard.

Al thought this is the 2 generation digital camera (I think), but still work well. lots of manual settings available in order to take a good shot.

The most difficult for me is the night shoot, but recently found the way to take it.

This is a picture taken during CNY in Starhill, environment is quite dim..

sifu's please advice.
