any idea if A380 to be produce in MAS scheme...? just a silly question... but if there is... i'll buy it.. scale 1/144!? kinda huge to me...
Argrillion - April 7, 2006 12:28 AM (GMT)
Very unlikely Williams. However, I believe there are a/m decals for MAS. HHQ may have the contact.

Kelv and I did a quick in-box review on this Typhoon with bunker yesterday. Offering at RM200, the kit comes in a huge box with three-piece vacuum formed tarmac. The plane is not an Italeri kit and it is molded in light grey. Surprisingly, the supporting vehicles are molded in two colors much like Bandai stuffs (as mentioned by Kelv). The bunker is a two-piece bunker but you got to sprinkle your grass on top of the bunker. The doors are molded in green with respectable details.
Quite an impressive kit but what is lacking is some ground crew. Perhaps some lively ground crew from Hasegawa would turn this kit a wonderful built.
Stock availability: Limited (less than 5 sets)
Silantra - April 7, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
any words on the BR 52 locomotive??

well, keep me posted...tak sabar2 nih....
others in the US have already build this loco..
i tak sabar to smell the box..
Argrillion - April 7, 2006 07:50 AM (GMT)
Sil, perhaps we should get our hands dirty and mine for some coal over here. Wow! Are you really going to build this monster over the next one year?
Target_J - April 7, 2006 09:34 AM (GMT)
I'm definitely getting the loco as well. But i think it's best to wait for awhile to see what aftermarket sets are released for this kit before building it. Any price estimates on this kit?
Argrillion - April 10, 2006 07:03 AM (GMT)
A/m for loco? It's going be a big PE sheet for the loco if Eduard comes up with one. Surprisingly, the PE sheet for the Karl with transporters is not too popular. Perhaps, the kit is so costly that no one wanted to go for extras.
Target_J - April 10, 2006 10:40 AM (GMT)
There's a build up of another loco (not Trumpeter's, but a resin kit) in Tamiya's monthly mag. It's a very impressive build, with some guns mounted on the back part. Sadly, this is missing on Trumpeter's. The builder also added some scratch build PE.
I think it's likely that Lion Roar or Voyager would come up with a PE set for it right? I just happened to saw Lion Roar's PE for the 1/350 North Carolina and it even comes with metal barrels in the PE set. Good thing i stay away from ships cos the set is really gonna damaged my acc balance.
Argrillion - April 10, 2006 01:59 PM (GMT)
No problem Target_J. You can easily add the Tamiya flaks on the loco. If I am not wrong, the CMK loco did come with the flak. It something extra the author added-on. Not a bad though at least breaks up the contrast of the loco.

i dont know when i going to build...as usual..i love to buy ....so before it's gone in LHS, i better have it first..hehe
JEremy, i think CMK do have the loco which cost around USD 800
Target_J - April 12, 2006 02:09 AM (GMT)
For USD800 or RM800...either currency, it's way beyond my budget. But if it's USD800, wouldn't it be better to get the DORA railgun? I think the DORA is for sale around EURO 500? Is this right?
Come to think of it, if the DORA is the only kit you'll get this year, would it be worth it? I mean for some, the amount the spend on kits each year totals up more than the DORA. I think the DORA should keep you busy for at least 10 months, and that's if it fits like a Tamiya. For me, it's out of the question due to the size factor. I live in a condo, so i dont have the parking space available. The allocated space is already taken up by my car.

dora is sale around USD 60-80 around the world.

I think what Target_J meant was the monster at 35th scale. The one that will take over one car park.

Now that's any scratchbuilders dream. Maybe when I retire but by then I may be too blind to scratchbuild. Furthermore given its size at 1/35 the police may require a gun licence. :)

ahh...in 1/35th scale...
ehh who make the kit?? i dont know if 1/35 existed for this giant..
ck, you can do the DORA in your next project..probably in 1/9 scale... park it to your triumph and your future 1/9 zundap...
Argrillion - April 12, 2006 09:11 AM (GMT)
I sense some mind games being play here by Sil. Beachbum, I guess I better look for the spring and just in case you go hot for the bikes (minus eh hmm hmm the beautiful bikers).
The 35th Dora is made to order. Alpha7 did a post on this earlier. Got to search for it.
Here is my last post on
Dora. Look out for Fatfrog post.

HobbyEasy just announced their prices on the Trumpeter Loco. Offering at HKD498 ex-Hong Kong, this kit be cheaper than the Karl on transporters.
Argrillion - April 14, 2006 06:24 AM (GMT)
I am still scratching my head on this. HobbyEasy just dropped their price again on the loco. Now offering at HKD465. The bargain gets better by the day!
