Hi Revliss,

Was it a good angpow harvest? KL welcome big spenders.

As to the old dragon scales turning to stone/crystals, these could be in real unpolished pebbles or crystal embedded into Sculpey firm before baking. We have also acrylic resins that forms rounded shinning scales/crystals when baked. Once baked all these will be firmly embedded.

As for the eyes you can embed rattan seed that have natural designs that stimulate alien eyes.

Mount in a cave like diorama for better effect using expanded PU aerosol spray with real rocks/earth incorporated. After painting the cave sparingly sprinkle diamond dust for the mineral effect.

Keep it up. Can't wait to see it done.

You can cast this dragon and set where you want. Cave diorama adds to scene. Do have brass tube, square tube etc.

Design dragon with hollow tube embedded to channel led lights only to eyes and mouth. The random color light change create fiery eyes and fire breathing effect and it is a small mirror surface rotating turntable with LED in the centre. Dirt cheap and fast moving. AC-DC or battery operated. Musical if you need. PM if interested.

Those who do not know Jonestation started off during school days in Kedah with Multifilla paper clay on mail order and now on to sculpey. Leong Wan Kok a cartonist has now sculpted his original carton characters into sculptures also in Polymer clay.

We have many talented scalemodellers hesitating to venture into sculptures. My encouragement is fear not as budget is not a constrain. I started with paper clay, natural clay and to polymer clay. Cheapest is natural clay best suited to bust/portrait. Figures would be paper clay to practice graduating to polymer clay as master for mold making.

"Creating Life like Figures in polymer clay" a step by step guide at Rm 137.00 ex KL is a good comprehensive book.

Not too late to discover hidden talent !

If it is oil base clay known as Industrial styling clay, an Industrial heat gun and Alcohol BP will smoothen surface. Do not use torch as will ignite clay.

Advantage as Industrial clay can be reused many times with minimum shrinkage. However if intending to mold sculpture ask for sulfur free Industrial styling clay if using silicon rubber molding. PU Rubber as mold can use any type of Industrial clay.

All available from Multifilla.

If I were you, I would stay away from such flimsy molotov cocktail bomb. The alcohol fuel in stored in plastic bottle with wick burning and squeeze bottle spray alcohol over burning wick. Puff pufff burn burn and ignite yourself. If you really need, we have the alcohol as Tuak will not work maybe XO

Safer with Industrial heat gun at only Rm 100.00

Revliss - February 7, 2009 01:13 AM (GMT)
ya i vote for the heat gun as i takut to play with fire :P ,i did see this vedio tutorial that this mat saleh sifu use that flimsy molotov cocktail bomb and squeeze squeeze fire at the oil base clay sculpt .. that just keep me wodering what alcohol he use.. my gess it Everclear 90% alcohol for making super drink :D (or kill you )
the next thing i see its that he have a spray for frezzing the clay instenly. it one of the stuff them crazy weastener use to clean they pc case. that is just a Can of Air. he just turn the can upside down and spray ....

Curiosity kills the cat. How about swapping your XO for the 96% alcohol for your fireball squeeze bottle just to confirm what alcohol used.

To freeze cool industrial styling clay, just dunk into a basin of cold water and dap dry with tissue. Freeze cooling is to harden smoothened clay surface to avoid smear marks.
Once hardened it can be buffed to shine further.

For your information the Hell boy shine is from varnish attainable with H20 varnish brushed on undiluted.
