It was an accident weeks ago, I spilled almost half bottle of Tamiya cement on my cutting map while this poor Patlabor was lying on it... Effected parts are recovering by using polyester putty again.

Getting bored with cookies and card game, some little progress on my Patlabor.

I love this kit very much but the rubber in this kit really a problem, it cant be painted!!! To counter this problem, I wrap the rubber part with tissue paper.

Before attach the tissue paper to the rubber part, soak it in water. With a little bit care, move the tissue to the rubber part while it still wet, cover it nicely. Before the tissue paper dry, i spray a thin layer of dilluted white glue over it. Trim the part when its totally dry.

Here is the result.

After the primer dry, I spray a black over the part.

After the silver paint dry, I cover it with Gunze Steel to create a metalic effect.

For the upper part of the piston, I used Tamiya Titanium Gold. A bit disappointed with the outcome, the gold color its too dull, should have use the Gaia color.
