in order to heed BV call for a more build this year... i'll start this Unofficial Viper Group Build as per discussion with BV following his "successful" Hornet GB last year.

hopefully more can follow and build more viper in 2009..

below is my contribution to this unofficial "campaign" and GB..
will be build OOB :D

1/48 F-16C by using academy Viper.
Scheme: not yet decided.. maybe the Razorback or maybe the Thailand AirForder "40 000hrs Anniversary"

Just a wee bit of comment though.

You've pasted the upfront IP (between the MFDs) decal upside down. The row of five buttons should be at the top. :)

The intake really isn't so hard to work with. All it needs is some putty, TLC and you can get it to look something like this (same kit you're working on)


BTW I see you've fixed the intake strut bar in place. I hope it won't hinder your movements when sanding. You'll need quite a bit of manouvering room to sand everything down proper.

If I'm not wrong, for this kit, the couple of places to watch out for would be the wing to fuselage joint and the radome. Everything else shouldn't be a problem far as I can remember.

- yea.. nasty.. at first thought of just ignore it.. but my "accurate-sense" makes me want to do something about it and i did.. will post picture of the sanding process in a bit.
- if that somehow failed, i'll install an intake cover over it to cover the mistake :D

- upsidedown?!! wah you really can tell.. i dont even know about the arrangement since i just follow instruction.. thanks for the heads'-up but since this is already in place in the fuselage, its too late to save it.. hopefully it will be properly sealed inside the tub.
- as for the intake, i follow one of you guide last time. using a rolled-sandpaper to sand the inside.. so far so good.. and unfortunately i already install the strut inside the intake :( but so far i've carefully sand around it without "disturbing" the strut... but again i think i need to remove the strut temporarily since it was installed a bit slanted to the right.. so need to re-align it later :((
- on the wing root also got a lil gap which i'm working on to cover with putty and stuff.. nasty job there as well.

If you're into 1/72, give Academy's 72nd scale F-16C a look see. It's pretty decent and well detailed too. Decals are done by Cartograf.

last nite manage to slot in some time to sand the intake and the wing root..

i post again the picture of the intake before sanding..


and this is after... i still need to apply Surfacer to this later on


and this is the wingroot after sanding and puttying.. also need to apply Surfacer to check..


also last nite i try to assemble the seat... and try to imitate Jason's way of doing the harness with bondite... so far no success yet... so back to using maskign tape i suppose. :D and also i use tape to simulate the cushion on the seat.. macam tak jadi ajer :D

tomorrow i try to post the seat pictures

ok some update last nite after i "future" a lil bit of the Hornet..

so last nite i completed assembly the weapon and tank that will be used in this build..

i still havent decide on what decal to use.. most probably i'll use the "Flying Razorback" decal first on this build...

- notice my attempt to spice up the bang-seat,... will need to improve it further... that one i try using the masking tape only to make the belt etc...
