I am not sure if this is useful here as there many experience modelers here. :)

Just to share :)

From the How to do a carbon fibre hood,
here's a step by step on how I apply water slide decals on complicated surface.

Actually, the CF hood is much harder to do in my opinion.

After the decal can be easily remove from its base, put it onto the surface.

I use a brush to squeeze out the excess area and make the decal hug the surface as close as possible.

Gunze Mark Softerner. I upload a few drops on to the 'cup' so that I can use another brush to apply the Mark Softerner.

The Mark Softener will wrinkle your decal. Let it be. DO NOT touch it. For Small misalignment, I use back the small brush to move the decal around.

Same for the long decal at the side body kit.

Same for the bigger decals. Use a brush to squeeze out the remaining water and 'dry' the surface before Mark Softener.

Put Mark Softerner over the decals.. and leave it there.. dont even bother to look at the ugly wrinkle decals..

Because.. when it dries... decal onz :)

After decals are fix to the body. You would need to use a cotton bud or paper power soak with some water and rub away the water mark/ Mark Softerner marks on the body.

Next tutorial on how to remove the decal edges :P

Let me add a few if i may maxwinamp... :P

Not all water decals works well with Mr.Mark Softer so apply a small portion onto the decal 1st to test.

For repositioning the decal...i use Mr.Mark Setter.

good tutorials..

i for one always got a phobia once seeing my decal wrinkle like that..
i usually would apply mr. setter before mr softer and then apply future on top to get rid of the wrinkle since i'm so afraid of wrinkleing decal. :D

good tutorial man.. waiting to see the next tutorial on decal edge.. :D

Thanks for the tutorial, maxwinamp.

Picked up another tip from this too, which is using cookie foils as a disposable container :)
