Title: Fire Station Comissioned Build

druid_99 - December 15, 2008 06:32 AM (GMT)
Hi, I'm not sure where to park this so, I'll be parking this here at the moment.

A cousin of mine loves the train toys/models and he collects all scales of the trains. He commissioned me to build the Fire Station and since he did not want it to be painted, it took me about two days (actually only less than 24 hours) to get this thing build.

The building is manufactured by Vollmer of Western Germany and below is how the box looks like.

Cute man.

Train scales usually start with 00 and H0 I thinkand both are smaller than 1/72nd.

Nice and something different for a change.

Richard: Yup, I really need something simple and fun to build after the very challenging build for the Fly Navy event. As for the scale... yup, it is one of the smaller scales...

Kuman: Well, maybe next time when I visit him I'll take a picture of Tokyo town he build himself (still in progress though) for one of his train. Maybe a picture of his Garden Scale train as well...

Imran, I think this is the simplest project for you. No "messy" paint job, no sanding and no putty filling. Just "plain sailing...

I used to collect model Train last time and I've own Marklin but not much...

For those who want to know the Model Train sizes, here it is:

(largest to smallest):

1:12 -Large Scale
1:13.7 -7/8 inch scale
1:20.3 -G scale, Three-Foot Gauge on Gauge 1 Track (Garden Railway)
1:22.5 -Lehmann Gross Bahn (LGB) and Bachman
1:24 -Half scale
1:29 -Aristo-Craft, USA Trains, standard gauge on #1 gauge
1:32 -I scale
1:48 -O scale (Zero)
1:64 -S scale
1:76.2 -OO Scale (Zero Zero or Double Zero)
1:87.1 -HO scale (Half Zero)
1:120 -TT scale
1:160 -N scale
1:220 -Z scale

Pretty decent details even at this scale. Looks pretty good even without paint. I can see why its a nice change of pace for you Imran.
