Anyone knows where I can get my air compressor serviced. Mine is the silent type, which I believe is oil filled. It's quite old (passed down from my father-in-law), but works well.

Recently it started making a bit of a whirling sound if left on for more than 10 minutes. It's either the oil needs changing or something is seriously wrong with it. Anyone knows where to get the compressor oil or anyone who can service a compressor?

there are a few machine shop along jalan loke yew. take your compressor there and let them troubleshoot your problem. Last year i bring my compressor there. Although i didnt purchased any replacement part, but they are sure can help u....

Hmm... angin sejuk or panas? Rasanya angin yang keluar dari compressor tu semuanya pada suhu bilik. Tak taulah pulak kalau ada compressor yang keluarkan angin panas.

Senang aja pasal kompresor ni..kalau nak pakai lama cari aja yg AUTOMATIK..mmg mahal dibandingkan ngan yg MANUAL tapi jangka masa panjang berbaloi..x yah risau overheat atau sebagainya..dan x ada moist..rasa kat Hobby HQ ada 1 kut..localnya la..dalam RM1000++..tanya Mr Loo. (HHQ 03-2162 2976)

: tekanan senang aja dlm 15 psi atau sebagainya..standard. Tapi x tau la kan..lain org lain caranya..dan lain airbrush lain fungsi tekanannya.

: tak ada auto kalu boleh guna hanya 1/2 jam setiap kali pakai aja atau kompresor tu akan overheat ataupun mcm apek cakap..bomkebabom..tp x pernah jd la kut. Auto stop dia akan secara automatik hentikan perjalanan piston kompresor tu bila tangki udara penuh..jd secara logik kompresor x panas..dan x ada moist yg keluar.. :D

: elakkan makan nasi sewaktu pakai kompresor tu.. :D ..bab ni standard la..jgn kurungkan kompresor tu ditempat tersembunyi..nnti x dapat udara..lemas n panas..kalau AUTOMATIK nya kena pastikan minyak piston tu pada level yang betul..kalau kering motorsikal pun boleh jem kalau x ada minyak hitam..sama la ngan kompresor

Memang la..kalau kita naik mercedes dia nya keselesaan x sama mcm naik kancil..tapi kalau nak china brand nya kat Venus Art ( 03-2078 1077 ) ada jual..tapi ketahanan dia x tau la..pernah pakai..ring piston dia patah..ataupun beli Revell Omega Compressor..dulu kat Jaya Jusco Lembah Tengah ( Mid Valley ) ada jual..ataupun tanya aja kat Hobby HQ..ari tu pergi ada 1 local made kompressor.

Phyzann, sekarang ni biar aku try terangkan pasal compressor ni. Kepada kengkawan semua, kalau ada maklumat yang tak betul dalam ni, tolong betulkan, ok? Sebab ini semua maklumat yang aku dapat dari pembacaan dan pengalaman.

Ok, sekarang ni ada beberapa jenis compressor. Satu yang guna diaphragm dan satu lagi guna piston. Lepas tu dari yang dua tu ada lak jenis yang terus keluar angin dan ada yang simpan angin dalam tangki.

Gambar yang kau tunjuk tu ialah compressor yang guna diaphragm and takde tangki. Compressor guna diaphragm macam ni senyap tapi selalunya ada had dia. Selalunya orang akan nasihat supaya tak guna lebih dari sejam, jadi, setiap kali lepas spray, kena biar compressor tu sejuk dulu untuk panjangkan jangka hayat dia. Compressor macam ni pun takde auto-stop, jadi, kalau tak guna, jangan biarkan compressor ni beroparasi... kena tutup dan kurangkan pressure dia.

Compressor lagi satu ialah yang menggunakan piston dan bertangki. Yang guna piston dan bertangki ni, kalau nak tengok contoh dia kau tengok kat kedai tayar yang mesin diaorang guna untuk isi angin tu.. haa itu contoh compressor berpiston dan bertangki... tapi yang tu saiz besar punya. Ada compressor macam tu yang kecik tetapi disebabkan menggunakan piston, bunyi dia agak bising tapi tak lama. Bila angin dah penuh dalam tangki dia, dia akan auto-stop dan gunakan angin dalam tangki tu jee.

Ada banyak lagi maklumat yang aku tak bagitau ni rasanya. Tapi aku rasa member2 lain akan bagi penjelasan yang lagi baik.

Hehe... not sure the brand & model, or the specs. Tengok camtu je. Kita ni newbie lagi... still using "very entry level set" (Tamiya compressor with airbrush).. murah punye. Tak sampai 2 minggu baru start "modeling"... Once skills upgraded over time, then maybe can consider high end. Just need to know what's good and what's not-so-good... :) Nanti will check out the brand and specs again later later sikit...

Yup..but most compressor ada filter..kecuali tamiya..I owned that small compressor at 1st stage..bunyi mcm engine motobot..lama kelamaan ada mcm oily thing timbul and the plastic piston will be slow and slower and slower..and finally STOP..I still got that compressor in my storage..for memory lane.. :D. Kalau x silap ada moist tu yang manual aja..yang auto x jd masalah.

Compressor tu ada tank, yang kat bawah yang besar tu tangki angin dia lah. Rasanya compressor ni ada auto off dan ada pressure regulator, so boleh kawal pressure angin yang keluar.

ada filter tak?

For this Puma compressor, you may not need a water filter, seeing that the tank is big enough to trap the water condensate. In my opinion, this compressor is quite complete. All it needs is an airbrush to make it a complete airbrush spray system.

If Im not mistaken kompresor PUMA tu industri nya kompresor..heavy duty..kompresor jenis ni mmg x ada filter dan bunyi dia bising skit..I x pernah guna kompresor jenis ni..kalau nak beli filter kat Venus Art ada jual.

i had the tamiya basic compressor. it was a good one for beginner, and i used it for 5 yrs plus , before it is finally beyond repair. the plastic parts are all worn out now...oh, it comes with an airbrush, and the airbrush is still in good condition.

that was why i requested WillPhang to help and get me a new set of air compressor.

kalau Phyzan nak, boleh jugak mintak tolong Will untuk dapatkan compressor.

Wow... you all so advanced... kita ni masih "raw" lagi. I'll probably let my entry-level Tamiya set "expire" like kwongyan's, then only upgrade :) Good to know that the brush is still in good order. BTW, where to find any replacement parts, if required? I got the set from Tamiya Underground, but tak notice any airbrush set parts (maybe was right in front of me but didn't notice hehe).

u need to take good care of the compressor , for it to last long. it doesn't have auto shutdown, so , make sure you do not overheat it. normally , after 30 to 45 minutes of using, i will let it coooooool down.

Bro, thanks for the tip. I noticed that after running it for a while, the thing starts to d-r-a-g (terhegeh-hegeh)... probably an indication that it's overheating. If not mistaken, the manual says it shouldn't be used for more than 1 hour straight. Buy haiya... 30-45 minutes... kind of potong-steam don't you think? :) How long do you normally leave it to cool off?

Wampire, I don't think you will be using it for more than 30 to 45 minutes for one model kit part. If you run through a few of the modelers build, you will notice that all will cover their model in mist coats and let it dry before another layer and the final layer. Rasanya cukup masa untuk compressor tu cool down.

Phyzann, macam Argrillion cakap, compressor dalam gambar tu tak semestinya perlukan water trap sebab tangki kat bawah tu pun dah boleh trap air. Tengok kat gambar last sekali tu, ada macam tombol kat bawah tangki dia. Kalau tak silap tangki tu untuk keluarkan air yang terperangkap dalam tangki tu.

Tapi tak salah kalau nak letak water trap kat compressor tu, tambah effektif.
