Title: In Box Review: Kinetic's 1/48 F-16dg/dj
Description: Dial-up Warning! Loaded with photos

xamel1975 - November 13, 2008 05:17 AM (GMT)
Subject: F-16DG/DJ (Block 40/50) USAF Viper
Manufacturer: Kinetic
Scale: 1/48
Parts: 450+

Overall comment:
An excellent rendition of the D Viper. A bit over engineered in my opinion. Surface on the fuselage is a bit grainy with some clean spot. Chemical reaction to the release agent, perhaps? Instruction is a bit busy and cluttered due to many parts per assembly but easy to understand.

Can't wait for their SUFA eventhough I have the conversion part somewhere in the stash!

Sample of the instruction. Sorry for the extreme white washout but I think you can figure out the diagram picture.

Excellent looking kit.

I can't wait to get one (or even two) when the local importer Poopeh Hobby's stock arrives in country.

The F-16DG/DJ kit was released with the F-16A MLU.

Vince,

If you really want to stretch the definition, the F-16 N is a navy thing

B-Vince,

Not true.

The US Navy first operated the F-16N as a 4th generation adversary aircraft in the mid 80's to mid 90's until the appearance of fatigue cracks forced its early retirement.

The F-16N is a stripped down & ligthened version of the USAF's F-16C Block 30. 26 F-16N & TF-16N airframes were built & delivered.

Today, the US Navy operates some F-16A/B (these are undelivered Pakistani F-16A/B ) in the adversary role, to supplement the F-5E/F/N.

pemlow - November 19, 2008 10:29 AM (GMT)

Kinetic or other Chinese Brand kits should come out with "Royal Class Kit".

SAC33 has no hesitation to buy.

Argrillion - November 20, 2008 12:23 AM (GMT)
At the rate with Chinese economy is going, these Chinese brands are certainly not in the Royal Class. They are in the Emperor Class! :D

David..

go ahead and get 1, we know that you wanted to.. :D

i think someone over at ARC already start building theirs and they pointed out some big gap under the mouth-inlet for the DG version which a lil putty can help hide it .. i think :D

and i also believe that our Major also building his :D

i for one would wait for their Barak/ Sufa /Block 60 even though the release date is very uncertain at the current point in time...

i read somewhere that would be their next F-16 :D\
